I heard Dan mention on Friday that he was waiting to hear from the higher up's at the station if he would be allowed to work with an old partner for a day . I would assume he was not speaking of Dan Jiggets but Terry Boers would be the guy to come to mind .

My question is why Dan would want to do that and why Terry would want to do that ? I just could not see either station allowing them to do this but I would still love to hear a cross promotion between the two .

Is there some anniversary coming up ? I don't see why the Score would allow that.

Mac pretty much said that the Score has oked it and the suits at ESPN were sitting on their hands. I do not undersand why either station would not allow it. It is free pub for BOTH shows. I cant see it as a ploy for a reunion. I see it for what it is...both guys enjoyed working together and want to try it one more time for old times sake.

Mac said before on-air that he wanted to work with Boers for a one day show, but that Pastor nixed it. I think Pastor's words, according to Mac, were that he "didn't think it would be successful." I remember Mac making fun of the stupidity of that given past performances with Terry.

Is it the 15-year anniversary of the Heavy Fuel Crew's inception this July?

I don't know what would define "successful" but I think Pastor is probably right. It would certainly be nostalgic for Mac, Terry, and probably the fans. But, I doubt it would be a great show.

But, admittedly, I was not a fan of the Heavy Fuel Crew even though I was a frequent listener. I used to think I didn't like Dan and Terry. But, after the show has ended, I now realize I just didn't like Terry.

I don't think Terry would want to do this - he'd have to actually like sports for once.

Mac has always viewed Boers as a God. Weird but true. Guess what? Bernsie & Boers have been together longer then the Heavy Fuel Crew. Although I've hear Boers make reference that the Mac and Diddly show was his first love. So you can breath easy Mac. He loves you more then Bernsie.

Boers has lucked out with strong partners. Boers was better with Mac. Now he has Bernsie to carry the show. Bernsie comes up with theories and ideas and Boers just throws in an "I agree" or "that's exacly right". He's old and is just collecting checks now.

Um, because he pisses and moans every day about how every athlete is overpaid and they don't deserve money, but he doesn't have a problem going to the teller's window every two weeks.

Why try hard at one's job? Oh I don't know. Maybe because that's part of the deal when one is getting paid to do a job? I wonder how you would feel if an athlete from your favorite team had this attitude. You would probably dislike the guy, if not his manager for allowing it to continue. Boers' fans know he is mailing it in, yet still like him. Interesting...

It could be interesting if it were a regular show discussing that day's news. If it were 4 hours of, "remember the time......"

that would suck.

They could have Greenie on delivering reports from Bears' training camp, like he used to do for the HFC. Greenie could then explain how Myron Baker aka the "Touchdown Maker" is bound for stardom and that Dave Wannstedt is a brilliant football tactician.

To get us off of their backs, asking for a reunion, or wanting to blow up Harry / Bernsie, so justice is returned to the land, etc., etc., etc. Plus it could be fun, with a little work.

How? Well, you run it as a simulcast (sort of). Terry & Mac on station 1 for one segment, while Bernsie, Harry & Jurko are on station 2. Next segment, swap stations!

Or... you do it via lottery: for every segment, each station runs a different combo of the 5 hosts. Add Drinky if you want to keep it even... That way, you don't know which segment gets Heavy Fuel pairing, or on which station! Hoo-hoo!

LOL

swtiching stations would not be conveinent for listeners. you'd have to broadcast it on the score and 1000

The Heavy Fuel Crew was my favorite sportsradio show back in the day.

With that said, I found it funny that Mac chided Silvy and Carm for their little reunion show, and he sounded all maudlin about not being able to do a show with his former on-air partner. He sounded a bit saddened, kinda like (old) Rose (Gloria Stuart) at the end of the Titanic as she thought about her time with Jack Dawson. ;)

I love you like a man can love another man from afar Mackey... let it go, Boers had his chance to come work with you at ESPN1000 and opted not to. Your time will come again down the road. If not you can always do imaginary radio from his deck.

See, I'm building for the future. What if they discover Bernsie and Harry were a good combo? Then fine, you could ship both off, and rebalance the existing combos. Just think: we could get rid primary source of complaints in the B&B and MJH show in one fell swoop. Or... not.

Harry was intimating that he ought to do a reunion show with Spike. Yeah right, he'll want to do that, Harry...

I'm all for it if it means the little drunk, Harry, isn't on the air. Hell, I'm for North's dead dog replacing Harry.

I was very young at the time, and so my opinions shouldn't count for much, but I wasn't a very big fan of the Heavy Fuel Crew. Early B&B was better than late HFC, IMO (LOL, I sound like Variety). But then again, I'm one of the few people on this board who doesn't really care for MJH either. A one-time show probably wouldn't be a very good show, although it would be nostalgic and perhaps briefly entertaining.
