A. Varejao 21 Pts, 11 Reb, 1 Ast

That is correct...

...but it's against Brook Lopez. Varejao would have to score about 80 for it to be mildly impressive.

35 pts, 18 rebs, 3 ast, 2 stl

Also I thought Leuer could be sneaky good with some decent playing time but he just sucks.

Not unless Carmelo grows to 6'9", 235 lbs! Wait.... The Knicks are qualified to beat the Heat I guess.

If the Bulls are out of it they are far and away my choice to root for, but they are having a hell of a time figuring out what kind of team they want to be this year.

Sorta. Jeff Green is looking good. JET should start playing a lot better when he gets more acclimated with the team. Avery Bradley should only improve on his stellar year last year when he comes back, and its easy to see how much they still miss him. They are weak on the frontcourt defensively, and when KG goes to the bench they might be the worst in the game at protecting the rim. Darko can get a couple of blocks but he's hopeless. But guys like Bass and Wilcox can score and rebound, and Sullinger looks like he can play a little bit offensively. It's still gonna come down to the health and performance of Rondo, PP, and KG, but yes, the ancillary characters are a lot better than they've been since 2008.

I know it's only been a couple weeks, but Lillard is really coming out strong for a rookie. Hopefully Anthony Davis stays right the rest of the season and we have a hell of a ROY race.

Spurs beat Lakers and their top 10 player. Team > individuals 8)

It's true Kid. They are definitely in the discussion in the West. I'm not positive OKC or SA would beat them.

Bulls are gonna blow this game against the Suns because they can't score when the defenses tighten in the 4th quarter and get sloppy PG play. I'm considering not wasting my time with each game from now on. I'll just DVR one of these games and watch it again every other day. Same damn thing.

I haven't watched the Grizz yet this year, so I can't really comment. I'll check out their next game though.

But you're right on the Bulls. I'm not bothering anymore till Derrick comes back. The OKC game last Thursday sealed it for me. That's gonna be the story most nights. Hang around for 36 minutes and then collapse in the 4th. Keep it. They need a real point GUARD. Somebody to just keep them afloat offensively and to not cost them possessions. C.J. was that guy. I wish they'd had the resources to hold onto him.

Grizz are maybe the most versatile team and matchup well against anyone. Same story as the past few seasons but they seem as comfortable as ever with eachother, and Rudy Gay, Gasol, and Conley are playing as well as they ever have. Gay has been a lot better defensively, tonight and against Miami the other night. I think they are big enough to compete with any team in the league, and if they can keep shooting the way they have they'll be dangerous. I like the little bit of spacing that Ellington gives them when he's in there, it's something I remember not seeing from them a lot last year.

nice to see him finally getting minutes.

way to change the argument...I said he was on level with Anderson. It would appear that now that their PT is relatively equal, they are looking like the same player. And while the barometer for center play has fallen to the point where both are good players at the position, I still think they could have done something different. So, you cede my argument on them being similar players now?

It is sad to see you still trying to find a way to show that Noah sucks.

Just give it up.

I've never hated on Varejao. Him and Noah are obviously similar players. Not sure anyone would argue that, ever. Noah is better.

What are you talking about with their PT finally being equal now? Noah is actually getting more than Varejao this season, but their PT has been very similar over the past three seasons. Im not sure why you thought it wasn't. Varejao played more than Noah last season.

I was ripped for saying Noah sucks. I was also ripped for comparing him to Anderson. I think I'm 1 for 2. I'd rather have Varejao.

Somebody tell me who Noah compares to from the centers from the early to mid nineties. I'd be curious. I do think the barometer has fallen.

Saying Noah sucks, even after years of evidence proving that argument wrong, deserves being ripped. You should admit that by now.

Anyone ripping you for comparing Noah and Varejao is confused or something. I dont even know what kind of argument someone could make against them being similar players. Noah is clearly better, but I understand you want to weigh two weeks heavier than 4+ years because it's Noah we are talking about.

Varejao is finally staying healthy and getting full minutes. He only played 31 and 25 games or so the last two years. I will admit that in today's NBA Noah is a very good player. But I did get ripped for comparing Noah to Anderson and I think that long term Anderson will prove to have been just as good if not better. Anderson plays like a basketball player. Noah still looks like a guy who happens to be tall and got talked into playing basketball. He still slays me with his desire to dribble the ball full court, inevitably slamming into somebody or losing the ball. If I really wanted to prove my point I could search out the number of times I compared the two and got slammed. But it's surely not worth it because I was wrong on Noah in general as far as his survival rate in the NBA. I was also extremely wrong on Tayshon Prince.

Not only that, its an absurd thing to say, and I have no idea why CoF's intuition is telling him that. Noah is clearly a better all around basketball player. He is a better passer, he is a more versatile offensive player, he is a better help defender. Pretty much all the ancillary basketball skills that go towards "basketball IQ" Noah beats Varejao in. He "looks" much more like a basketball player than Varejao does.

Noah does appear to have a good NBA IQ. I'm not sure how to explain what I'm trying to say. When I figure it out, I'll let you know. Noah reminds me too much of Bo Outlaw if Bo had figured out how to pass real good. Don't take that illustration too far though.
