The SHOES will be performing their first gig in over 4 years on Friday, Aug. 10th at Millenium Park for the Great Performers of Illinois Festival.

They will be playing in Wrigley Square on Stage 1 at 5:00pm.

Also, the new Best Of SHOES is called "Double Exposure". It's a 30-song, 2-cd set comprised of the original demos from 1978-1980 that became the basis for the first 2 Elektra albums, Present Tense and Tongue Twister.

SHOES also recently finished a Cheap Trick cover song for a benefit/tribute CD due soon on Fastlane Records.
Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

I am really effing old, since I remember their first ablum back in the late 70s. My high school history teacher had been a friend of theirs and he was all excited when their first ablum came out and they had a big release party.
