So, you think Trout is supplying HGH to the Angels?

I'm not interested.

I actually think Spiegs said it best on today's show. They are closer than anyone on either side wants to admit, and there is no wrong or stupid answer, just differing opinions on what factors are more important or should be weighed more. But of course that is more boring than pretending there is one sure answer and any other answer is baseball-stupid.

Through osmosis.

Trout's rookie season is absolutely staggering, ive never seen a rookie in baseball come up and make such an impact not only for his team but the league. His only blemish this year was in sept when the Angels needed him most he faded as did his teammates

Miggy just had one of the greatest offensive seasons baseball has ever seen. On the way to winning the triple crown he was one of the main reasons the Tigers made the run into the post season. When the team needed his bat the most he hit like 10 hrs and had over 20+ rbi in the month. Everyone always brings up fielding but he wasnt terrible and made quite a few HL reel plays himself

Im still sticking with Cabrera for MVP. I feel he was a bigger impact in his team making the playoffs

Matt Spiegel has always been the voice of reason on that show.

This kind of reason has no place here

But if you had a 2 run lead in the 9th, I know which one would get replaced defensively.
If you are down 2 runs in the 9th with a runner on first, I know which one I would rather have at the plate.

I hate this type of scenario. So silly. And further, if we regress to this type of thinking, we would award the Silver Slugger. Not the MVP.

If the question is, which player do I want that has the best chances to positively impact every single play of a baseball game, the answer is Trout. And further, I believe he actually DID this, this season.

And further, that's a forward looking scenario. Not one that takes in to account what actually happened in the season.

This is like god, gay marriage and pot. Fast forward a generation and us youngins will get everything straightened out. In the meantime, we'll just kindly wait until you old farts all retire.

Math is good enough for Presidential elections, just not baseball writers.

I don't actually agree with this, and moreover I still don't think it was close. A bunch of old-school guys voting doesn't change my opinion, or make either opinion more right or wrong. And for the record, I did say Miggy would win.

The kid on Cabrera's lap is drinking tequila from his baby bottle.

Nate Silver invented PECOTA, so that's cool I guess.

Hopefully that helps you sleep tonight after the crushing defeat of math that happened today.
