DeMarcus Cousins, and it's not close.

yeah, I think I'll disagree on that...describe what you mean when you think of raw athletic ability. I watched a lot of Kings basketball last year.

Everything physical. Strength, speed, hand-eye coordination, jumping, stamina, etc. But when I say Cousins I mean more raw basketball potential than raw athletic ability, although I think they are similar. Cousins can also handle the ball, he can pass, he can hit jumpers, he has great hands. There's no reason at all for a guy like him to have a FG% anywhere close to as low as it is. In terms of combination of raw talent and raw athleticism Cousins is top 5 in the league. He's just an idiot and has a temper and attitude problem and most likely will never put it all together on the court. If he does, he will be a dominant player.

I agree with passing, hits jumpers way better, does have great hands, possesses a good post game and is further along and less raw. But DeAndre is a defensive increible, and I think he both outjumps Cousins and has a bigger wingspan. Cousins lost me when he got Westphal fired. I do think Keith Smart is credible but not as good a coach. Kings are going to Va beach anyway.

Thats what I mean by DeAndre is playing smarter this year. He has a ton of defensive potential, but he was a below average defensive player last year. He was an idiot when playing on the ball defense, had terrible timing, and often over-rotated when Blake fucked up and was out of position. He doesnt do that stupid shit as much in the few games I've seen so far. Im not sure if Vinny has turned into a real coach(highly doubtful), this is a fluke start(possible), or DeAndre took his game seriously this summer and improved quite a bit(hopefully what happened).

can anyone explain how Vinny got so stupid after being such a cerebral NBA player? His sets are awful offensively, no imagination whatsoever.

DeAndre could be having a fluke start but I think he's figuring it out. Blake Griffin is not a good offensive player at this point, though if the Clippers are in the halfcourt. They will get pasted when it really counts, unless they can put a better halfcourt team out there (Paul/Billups, Butler)

Watching this Nets/Celtics game. Brooklyn has the quietest NBA arena I've ever heard. It literally almost sounds like a D-League game in front of 300 people. This shit is putting me to sleep.

I like the Nets team though. Marshon Brooks is that dude.

I hope this doesn't get too overblown but... the Knicks with a comeback win on the road against the Spurs to remain unbeaten, with only 9 points from Carmelo... impressive. Only undefeated team in the league.

The Mayans want you to know that Donald Sterling, James Dolan and Robert Pera own the 3 best NBA teams right now.

Very impressive indeed. It looks like Mike Woodson has found a way to get the most out of these guys. I know we joke about how much age they have with Kidd, Camby, and Wallace but you know...they're showing they can still play. I can't wait until Shumpert comes back into the mix. This was my team last year, but they disappointed me immensely. Obviously this year's roster is better though. I don't want to get too excited but....I'm starting to get excited.

Damnit... I liked you better as a Mavs fan. Fuck the Knicks. But it does look like they might be good this year.

K, so getting way too damn far ahead of myself here..... a 2/7 Knicks/Bulls playoff matchup with Derrick back at an All-Star caliber level of play by then would be pretty badass.

Yeah, the Mavs just don't really do it much for me anymore. I'll be happy with the 2011 championship. Jason Terry was my favorite player from those teams anyway. I mean, I like Darren Collison but the rest of the team is like "meh" to me.

Josh Howard looking good in a T-Wolves uniform. Good pickup by them. He's the type of guy who only plays well when in a winning situation. This is a good young team. He won't get back to his 2007 All Star year, but he's gonna be a big contributor for them. I'm glad they solved the Brandon Roy problem.

Cool.

What you think about the Wolves picking up my guy Josh Howard? I say, really good move. He only played 14 minutes though. That's disappointing. But he did score 6 points in that time.

Man Minny loves their reclamation projects I guess. I dont remember seeing Howard a lot but even if he can't play it's a solid move. They barely have half a team still standing. The 14 minutes makes sense since he's gotta play his way back into shape. I'm liking what AK and Buddinger have been giving them though so it'll be interesting to see if he cracks the top 8-9 when Buddinger and the rest of the guys come back. He can't be much older than 30 yet so he should have some legs left in him.

BTW, Kevin Martin had a big game. 27 points. 22 in the first half. They murdered the Hornets. 8)

Damn somehow I forgot about Derrick Williams. Those are some crowded swing spots on Minny when everyone gets healthy. But Howard might be playing for his nba career so hopefully he shows something these next few weeks. Adelman is a great coach and should get whatever he has left out of him.

Saw the Thunder were destroying NO. Martin seems to be having a pretty seamless transition to OKC.

Conley isn't really improving defensively, and he's improved quite a bit in almost every other area. That's sorta disappointing.

I think Conley kinda is what he is at this point.

'Melo is a fucking moron. You're trailing. Don't get an unnecessary technical by barking at the ref. It was a stupid foul on his part anyway. And I hate when he stays in the backcourt arguing with the ref instead of getting back on defense. Idiot.

Am I brain damaged or was the Bulls @ Clippers originally a 230 game.

Who's got a pocket schedule??

Yeah Melo needs to take that next maturity step now.

Love how Gay is playing this year. Not just passively looking to put in 20 and call it a night anymore. He's a lot more active in the offense even when he scores less and he's giving shit on defense. I think this Memphis team is really feelin themselves this year and it's not gonna catch as a national "narrative" for another couple months.

This could get out of control. 5 on Tyson now. Could get really out of control really quick. Bet Z Bo is gonna go nuts on the low block now.

It's getting out of control now. It looks like the Knicks are gonna unravel when they face adversity. They're really undisciplined.

To be fair they are on the end of a back to back, on the road, against 2 of the top 5 teams in the league.

Bad call. That was not a flagrant 1. That call should've been changed.

Agreed. Is the league cracking down some? There's been 4-5 pretty questionable flagrants from what I've seen alone already this year.
