This would be a fascinating case study...how a solid brand name like that can be run into the ground. Must be gross mismanagement combined with idiotic union leaders.

Well, I'd be happy if one person lost their job.

There had to be some type of angle to what he said. I just turned on my radio now, so I didn't hear it, but he didn't just say Im happy a bunch of people got laid off, did he?

I think he just hinted at what he meant. What a tool. He basically said Hostess made him fat.

I think being a junk food glutton probably made him fat, but that's just my uninformed opinion.

No, it was apparently just the latter.

2 bankruptcies in 8 years screams that it's both.

I really think the Older like over 50 yrs in business companies are really just getting
killed by the pensions that they used to throw around like Jim Hendry threw no trade clauses.

Nobody believed people were going to live so long and its killing them plus I'm sure
that they were horribly mismanaged.

Speigs is a Douche if thats what he said

Pensions weren't designed to pay out for 30 years. Did you know that when the Social Security Act was passed in 1935, the average life expectancy was 68? If someone dies of natural causes at 68 now, we regard it as a life cut tragically short.

Hostess & its brands are too valuable to just go away. This might end up like the Fannie Mae situation.

Not sure if serious, but regardless, here's a list of raises that took place during July of this year:

Brian Driscoll, CEO, around $750,000 to $2,550,000
Gary Wandschneider, EVP, $500,000 to $900,000
John Stewart, EVP, $400,000 to $700,000
David Loeser, EVP, $375,000 to $656,256
Kent Magill, EVP, $375,000 to $656,256
Richard Seban, EVP, $375,000 to $656,256
John Akeson, SVP, $300,000 to $480,000
Steven Birgfeld, SVP, $240,000 to $360,000
Martha Ross, SVP, $240,000 to $360,000
Rob Kissick, SVP, $182,000 to $273,008

Yep, completely the union's fault.

I've also seen nothing indicating that since Hostess went into bankruptcy in 2011 (that's last year, not last week btw) that they had any inkling whatsoever to do anything but liquidate.

Hostess has had NINE STRAIGHT depreciating fiscal quarters. Nine. Sales are down. Revenue is down. This is not a failure in manufacturing, design, or supply chain. This is a management failure.
