well the deal is on the table. Depaul gets the old Arie Crown, some Tax dollars, they fix it up and make it a 15,000 seat facility.

1. DePauls wants it all for them. City wants them to share it. City championships, cit events, etc. Reasonable people should be able to work this out, but not sure they exist here.

2. I doubt this thing gets built as a 15,000 seat facility. DePaul is so worried about having the ability to hold 15K part for a major game, yet they have totally forgot about getting a major game in about 15 years?

I hope it gets done, at least it shows that someone at that school remembers basketball!

Playing at McCormick Place isn't appreciably better than playing in Rosemont. No tax money for Catholic schools, especially ones with dogshit basketball programs.

While today, it might not be that much better, it is better in every aspect and it is closer.

Not sure why 1 few places on Elston are not considered for a UIC sized facility

So now it's just, what, 8 miles away instead of 15? Making people schlep across town, whether by bus or by train, isn't all that different from the current situation. If you're going to do this, do it right or don't do it at all.

Agreed...It'll be worse trying to get there than Soldier Field or The Cell.

I hope they get it done. Would be very good for the school and the program.

Why? It's neither near the campus, nor is it near the season ticket base that apparently insisted upon Rosemont over downtown. Why does Chicago need another 15,000-seat sports arena for a minor-league basketball team that no one likes anymore, and built with taxpayer money, at that? Aren't there roads to fix, trains to run, and other concerns greater than sports right now?
