I think they would if they didn't already have Alex Smith. But they already have a QB who's as good as Cutler, and are hoping Kaepernick is better than both of them, so I would agree with you.

The defense shows up more often than not and keeps the team in position to win. They have proven time and time again that they can hang with anyone. The big problem is and always has been the offense. Its predictable and fails miserably to come up with game plans that make any form of sense.

That was my dad's biggest complaint last night. He was saying there was an obvious, stark difference in the play-calling of the two teams. The Bears just keep running very bland, basic sets, while the announcers couldn't stop slurping the 49ers and their creative sets.
