yes it sure is. you are just not going to run the ball into the end zone from the 5 yd line and in. Plus Kiffin is an idiot too. Keep throwing the ball up to your WR.

Yeah it definitely helped that Kiffin is brain dead.

Can someone explain to me why you run your 2 stud RBs down to the goal line and then proceed to go empty and either run the QB or pass???

Stupid.

Didn't understand that either....especially in that situation I want a running back to handle the ball instead of a QB, less chance of a fumble.

Kudos to Kelly, I thought Rees probably should have been the starter, but Kelly stuck with Golson and Golson certainly delivered. But it does seem like the ND sideline has a lot of confusion. Late in the game and Kelly is yelling for the punting team to get on the field? It's fourth and long, whats the ND punting unit waiting for?

Not gonna bother reading this thread, but, there were 3 teams that were terrible at managing the clock tonight:

1. Lane Kiffin should be fired tomorrow. Why did they go for it on 4th inside the 10 down by 9? 10,000 football coaches had a stroke when he did that. He's terrible. That's inexcusable.

2. Brian Kelly mismanaged the clock in the 4th quareter. They were in control, and simply refused to let the clock run before snapping the ball. It was maddening.

3. The refs cost ND an extra 35 seconds at the end of the 1st half. When they overturned the incomplete pass, they never reset the clock. Bad. Inexcusable with a review.

In spite of all of that - and despite Irish Boy telling us that ND got lucky and had their 12th consecutive "good matchup" - and he would know, because he wrote an independent book and we didn't - Notre Dame is heading to the national championship game.........

I think every coach at every level is terrible at time management. They need to hire a time coordinator to go with all the other ones. It's not just bad use of timeouts and terrible play calling, teams must be coached badly during the week too. Lazy lineman not getting back, QB's throwing 3 yard dump offs, runners staying inbounds to fight for that extra yard, the players don't help the coaches out much either.

Kiffen should be fired for being a bad coach, having the most talent in the country ad winning 6 games..he was ever a good coach ad ever will be a good coach...why did Kelly decline the roughing penalty? why give USC the ball when you could accept the penalty and get a first down and take a couple knees ad kill the clock.

It was a 5 yard running into the kicker, not roughing.

Why the constant shots at Irish Boy? I'm not too far into it but his book is pretty good and I think it's pretty cool that he did it.

What would you feel like if someone was constantly putting down your job?
