For taking the events in KC and using them to further a political agenda.
Look, this guy was obviously a sick person. Guns didn't make this happen. A deranged asshole made it happen.
I know many of you don't like guns. I get that. You're entitled to your opinion.
However, pontificating about gun laws in the wake of this is pointless. Perhaps we could rather concentrate on recognizing mental illness and substance abuse rather than the tools this sick mind used. Maybe we should instead witness what happened, learn how to identify a troubled mind and tey to help someone before it comes to this rather than to blame guns.

On the contrary, good sir, I think that when someone makes national news by having a gun without the mental faculties one should have in order to procure a gun, it's as good a time as any to talk about guns. Our poor treatment of mental illness and our lack of encumbrances toward guns go hand in hand.

The Cleveland Browns groundskeeper hanged himself. Do we need rope control?

Dude the gun isn't the problem. Its the guy who pulled the trigger.
Someone capable of shooting himself and a loved one is capable of killing other ways too.
The man is to blame.
And were close to agreeing here. I think we should be better at identifying those with mental illnesses and getting them help.

Jorr has an excellent point.

Keep the guns away from the crazy. Or the other ways around. Maybe we need to get rid of fast food before it kills Whitlock.

Chris Benoit didn't shoot his kids did he? He drugged and strangled them.
Gun control wouldn't have saved them.
Idnetifying the illness might have.

I'll assume your non-answer means you see the difference between the two.

I agree. If guns weren't available, perhaps hed have drugged and strangled like the aforementioned Benoit.
Guns aren't why this happened.

Man shot to death in Woodlawn; 8th killed in Chicago weekend violence

A man in his 50s died after being shot Sunday evening in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood just before 6 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Blackstone in what may have been a drive-by shooting, police said. He was the eighth person to be killed in violence in the city this weekend.

Seven men were shot to death, one was stabbed to death and another 28 people — six of them teenagers — were wounded across the city this weekend.

Something sure is wrong. Sheesh.

You're right. Because even with the strictest gun control in the entire union, the violence still happens. Obviously, you've posted proof that "gun control" is not the solution. Thank you.

No. People are murdered in various ways all the time. A gun is simple a tool, like a rope or a knife or a jackhandle. If you want to argue that as opposed to those other tools, the sole purpose of a handgun is killing, fine. But I don't think it's a great idea to promote rules that will ultimately result in only officials of government, i.e. the very wealthy, having firepower. But America is well on its way to becoming a plutocratic state. May as well disarm the proletariat now.

Evidently I was mistaken.
You clearly do not see the difference between a guy hanging himself in a tool shed and a guy that shoots his GF before shooting himself.

Really? Why do you think the founding father SPECIFICALLY included a right to bear arms in the Bill of Rights. The right to bear arms is designed to protect the people from an overreaching government. It goes hand in hand with all our other freedoms which are slowly being curtailed each day.
