The Dave Navarro-looking Clay Travis from Nashville's The Zone SportsRadio is laughing off rumblings in a SportsByBrooks Tweet that Arkansas has reportedly offered LSU HC Les Miles a 5 year, $27.5 million contract to leave Baton Rouge for Little Rock. Not so sure there's any truth to that.

That seems like small potatoes compared to Kentucky's basketball program. Hoops are the moneymaker at that SEC school, UMN.

I anticipate recruiting to increase tremendously at UK for football. What 4 or 5 star recruit would not want to say that they were part of the football team where future NFL hall of famer Randall Cobb once played.

Do not forget Super Bowl champion and likely perennial All-Pro punter Tim Masthay.

Longtime sports talk radio host Paul Finebaum of the Paul Finebaum Radio Network tweeted this moments ago...
"What's next? Saban back to LSU?"

CBSSports.com's Gregg Doyel also tweeted "Won't happen" in regards to SportsByBrooks' Tweet about Arkansas' supposed interest in LSU's Les Miles.

No and it's not even all that close.

The 2012-13 athletic budget approved in the summer by the UK Board of Trustees shows that football is slated to produce $27.6 million in revenue while spending $9.5 million — for a profit of $18.1 million.

By comparison, men’s basketball, even coming off a national championship, is projected to produce $20.8 million in revenue, while spending $12.6 million — for an $8.2 million profit.

Every school is a football school.

So there are reports out there that Gruden was offered the Tennessee job, and I am sure the money was good. But, also with that he was offered a percentage of ownership in the Cleveland Browns. That would be the worst part of accepting that offer.

Actually, the new owner of the Browns, Hawg, is supposedly a big Tennessee booster, according to what I've heard. I don't know how legit Jon Gruden's interest really is in leaving ESPN's "Monday Night Football", but that story isn't going away.

A big Tennessee booster??? He is THE Tennessee booster. That guy (and his family) has given boatloads to that institution.

I don't know how awful that is. T. Boone Pickens is Oklahoma State's biggest booster & I think the football stadium is named for the oilman.

Late Saturday afternoon, it was learned that Dave Doeren, head coach at NIU, was headed to Raleigh to become new head football coach at North Carolina State. Right around the time NIU learned they were facing Florida State in the FedEx Orange Bowl, much to the disgust of ESPN/ABC's Kirk Herbstreit, the Huskies promoted OC Rod Carey as their replacement, and not just for their New Year's Night bowl. Hmmm...

No sooner does Wisconsin's Bret Bielema accept the vacancy at Arkansas, another SEC school has reportedly found their next head coach. Arkansas State HC Gus Malzahn(?) has reportedly accepted the same position...at Auburn.

Doeren jumped too soon--he could have gone back to Wisco.

ESPN/ABC News' Darren Rovell Tweeted a little while ago suggesting Dave Doeren might not have signed his contract at North Carolina State. Hmmm...

ESPN has Louisville's coach Charlie Strong has the front runner, if he doesn't go, wonder who they get. Is Gundy ready to leave Oklahoma State.

CBSSports.com's Bruce Feldman reported this morning that Tennessee offered their head coaching job to Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy, but I think he's the latest to say no.

He spent the last week saying he was "torn" between Cincinnati and Colorado.
