Who caught young WR Golden Tate from behind yesterday?

He might have lost a step or two,but I still bet he's faster than most ILB's.
I think Urlacher has more nagging injuries catching up to him more than lack of speed

Straightaway speed is okay but lateral movement is a problem. Backs are routinely making him miss.

The nagging injuries are causing the lack of speed.

Depends on how little he is willing to settle for contract wise. He's going to want big bucks again and will probably be insulted at what the Bears will offer.

Urlacher will be an Arizona Cardinal or Denver Bronco next year.

Urlacher is slow.

The only reason he catches Tate is because Tate was previousely stopped by Jennings?(DB) and was starting to run again.

Urlacher cant even extend his left leg fully. Maybe he gets some great rehab and regains flexibility in his knee, but today he is below average speed.

3 Weeks in a row he gets called for horsecollars?

As much as I would hate to see Brian play for another team, no way should the Bears resign him for big money. Maybe he'll hang up the spikes after this season?

The Bears ending on a bad note with an ex player? Never!

I would tell him I will give him $1M more than any other team will for a 1 year deal.

A Big part of the reason the Bears need to take a chance with him is that they dont have anyone else either.

So, this is not just not willing to take a chance on the guy getting better.

What if the Packers offered him $1 billion dollars?

Then he probably won't be coaching Purdue.

You'll have to talk to the board expert on facilities for that one.

They never retire that easily. He will have to have one professionally degrading type of year before he decides he is finished.

I agree, but he said if the Bears win the Super Bowl this year he's done. That I can believe.

I guess that answers Spaulding's question. He'll be back.

Yes. They should let him go. If they can't find a middle linebacker in the first 3 rounds next year, Roach would be a decent stop-gap. I actually think Roach could play as well as Urlacher has this year.

Side note: Urlacher needed to start every game this year to tie Walter Payton in all time starts as a Bear.

Right. I actually think Bill Bellicheck will take a flyer on him next year. He did the same with Junior Seau and a few other vets at the end of their careers. Urlacher would take less money to go play for the Patriots for a chance to get a Super Bowl.

And also don't forget Bellecheck will cut his ass mid-year if he can't use hi. Too embarrassing for 54?

Any coach in the NFL would cut Urlacher mid season if he sucks next year. So I don't understand your point. Urlacher knows it too. You would still rather take that shot with the Patriots team.
