They are the clear number 1. Thinking they have pretty good chance. At beating banana.

The only reason they are the clear number one is that all the other teams lost. Notre Dame very easily could have lost to a number of inferior opponents including BYU, Pittsburgh, Purdue or some of the others. Since they have no conference and there is no playoff we can only speculate on whether they could beat Texas A&M, Georgia or LSU.

Good call, it has nothing to do with the fact that they actually beat every team on their schedule, which coming into the year was considered to be one of the toughest in the nation. Sure they beat some bad teams, but look at the SEC team schedules and some of the cupcakes they beat.

The thing that's lame about this is that championship game is a month away. What other sport does that?

The first World Cup Qualifier is like 3 years before the World Cup Final.

If you look at Alabama's schedule, if Notre Dame scores over 20 points, has a shot, only 2 teams did that and Bama lost to one of them and had to hold on against the other.

I will say Alabama wins the game, but I do give Notre Dame a decent shot to win. I know Oregon had AUburn tied late in the game, I could say Notre Dame being closer than that to stopping the SEC's streak, like maybe a late lead but Bama scores late to win it.

I want to see Notre Dame lose so bad. If only because that kid died when the coach scheduled practice outdoors in a windstorm.

So...an ND loss justifies Sullivan's death in your mind.

Don't forget the rape and subsequent suicide of that girl, as well.

A ND loss would be a small form of payback for the coach who got someone killed. Yes, I think we can throw in the rape and suicide as well.

He's just lucky he has a job. There are a lot of professions where if someone dies on your watch you get fired.
