On the pre game Hub talked about playing o-line in high school. Said he was 5-8 180 and really undersized, but because he kept a good pad level and got lower than the defense, he was good enough.


He then went on to say that using this strategy (good pad level, getting lower than the defender) means that "anyone" (that's a quote) in the league that does this can be a suitable player. He went on the mention that the Bears stand straight up, making them bad.


So all the Bears have to do to fix the offensive line, is listen to Hub! He played high school football! It's that easy.

I've also heard Thayer & Hampton say the same thing.

Except that they actually played in the NFL for a long time and were both pretty damn good, so they probably have an idea of what they are talking about. Hub does not.

Hard to say Hub has such s simple recipe to be a suitable NFL linemen and no one else can figure this out at the pro level. If it was as simple as Hub infers, there would be no bad line play anywhere.

Actually Hub said "He Never lost a battle" due to this technique.

I guess Hub doesnt count when guys physically run over you as a loss.

Exactly, and if a caller had said or even implied something like that when he's on with B&B he'd call them a moron. But a friend on my team in HS (yes just HS) was 5'9" 165 and played nose tackle. He was just a nasty bitch out there and was so small sneaky and violent he did great. He's no Hug Arbush though.

Hub today on Danny Mac's show stated the Bears D Did bottle up Peterson pretty well after that 1st quarter. He was right. This game sits squarely on the dropped TD passes by the WR's. Thats 14 points lost.

Pick 6 was bad, and cannot happen.

-The almost pick 6 was a WR falling down. The same WR who can't stay on the field
-Dropped 4th down pass late in the game by Marshall

-Webb with a holding penalty negating a big pass play to Marshall, ended up punting
-Have to pass on a 50 yard FG the next drive because Gould was hurt
-Dropped TD pass by Hester

The latter 3 there really hurt, and took at least 10, maybe as many as 17 points off the board. Thre are 6 blown plays listed there that simply cannot happen in a playoff push and expect to win games.

No to mention the backup QB didn't know how many timeouts there were. He should have his head in the game to know that they were out of TOs, but its also up to somebody on the coaching staff to remind him that he cannot call a timeout before he goes into the game.

The timeout issue is moot. There isn't a penalty for it. It's hard to put the blame on him, when we all have seen how many times they strugge to get the play call in on time. Without knowing for sure, I would guess that was the issue there. It wasn't like JC was under center long at all before the clock expired.


I've been dying to know why the Bears relay the pay call from Tice to Bates to Cutler. That's not efficient. There has to be a reason it's done. From what I have been able to learn, in most systems Tice would relay directly to Cutler's helmet and Bates would be listening in so he would know the call. The Bears insist on this extra step, even though they consistently blow timeouts or force the offense to rush to the line. They have to to have a reason, but I can't figure out what it is.

I can understand burning a TO to get the perfect play for a key 3rd down conversion. But if the play is late I don't understand why Cutler couldn't just call his own play at the line. He's not missing out on a brilliant Tice playcall. In fact, don't even burn a TO if plays are late on 3rd down conversions so as to avoid Tice's shitty calls on that too.

Because we saw when Brian Griese did that, he engineered a drive that won the game. Yet when he admitted such, everybody on the coaching staff got all butt hurt.

I don't disagree with you, but thats just the reality of it.
