If we're being honest we're all racially bias to some degree. Same thing bias applies to any group of people you identify yourself you.

Right. But it isn't equal on both sides. Even Bill O'Reilly understands why Jamie Foxx can stand up on TV and say, "The movie is great! I got to kill all the white people!" but the same wouldn't work if it were the other way around.

Spmack said he was wrong but some on you felt the need to pile on. My suggestion is if you have an issue with a poster you should speak on it instead of waiting until he gets attacked to lob your bomb at him/her. It appeared to be a lot of things that had been held inside that came out in this thread. Spmack isn't exempt from this criticism either.

Have you ever used the word "n-igger" in your life?

I would hazard a guess almost everyone has said that word, either talking about race during a conversation or rapping along to a song. Saying it in anger or as an insult is a better question. I dont think I'm racist for dropping a hard N while rapping along to some Dr Dre. Maybe some members of the Lodge would disagree.

That's because it isn't socially accepted because of our history as a country. Things are changing though. I don't use the word n!gger but when I see or here some people that aren't black say or post it it doesn't bother me. I imagine my kids and grandchildren will care less.

There's a lot of history here that has gotten us to where we are. I don't think calling OKC a racial epithet when he cuts you off in traffic equates to hating black people. It's just something spur of the moment that came out in a moment of pique. But it's bubbling just below the surface of America. Maybe, hopefully it's get pushed further down with each passing year. But I don't think it serves anyone to deny it.

Some black people would be offended by it and some wouldn't. It all depends on the individual. While I personally wouldn't be offended by it, I can understand the point of view of someone who would.

I prefer to stick to general sentiments of anger rather than specific racial ones.

I pick and choose who I won't be offended by. There was a time when RPB pissed my off with posting versus with the word in it or having it in his signature.

I really can't disagree more. I have never even contemplated using it in anger towards someone and I would consider someone who does racist. If a man cuts me off they are a motherfucker and if a woman does shes a Caller Bob. Skin color doesnt play into my road rage.

I don't agree with that one bit. That sounds like the, "I was just angry" excuse. There is a vast difference between, "Fuckin asshole cut me off in traffic" and "Fuckin n!gger cut me off in traffic." One signifies that another human being has angered me. The other signifies that I've been angered by someone who is beneath me because of their race.

I am of the opinion that when someone so quickly responds with a racial quip, there is an underlying prejudice there that only took a moment of irritation to unearth. What is the objective of calling someone such a name other than as an attempt to dehumanize them?

I dont. I dont hate all women or men because I swear at them while driving.
Calling someone a n!gger isnt the same as swearing at them.

But that's the whole point, isn't it? I may have been mistaken, but I thought that was what you meant when you first said that someone here would direct that toward you in traffic. Obviously, they don't know you. I don't really think it's about race at all. They're mad and that's was what came to mind when they saw you. I think in another situation they might invite you in to their home and cook you dinner. We've got a country that was built on racism to one degree or another. Hundreds and hundreds of years. That stuff isn't just gone because a black guy was elected president.

I dont know a single person that would call someone a n!gger in traffic and then be content to be friends and invite black people into their home. They might be polite in social situations where the need to act civilized is required but that is the end of the road. The word shouldnt even enter into your mind in anger.

I'm 29 years old, I'm not influenced by the America of 1800, 1900 or 1950. My grandparents were/are racist. They arent bad people, just ignorant. I dont choose to continue down that road.

Really OKC? Some would be offended by reciting rap lyrics? That kind of boggles my mind. I mean, if I am singing along to a song about murder or something, that doesn't make me a killer.
