1. He thought Doug Flutie was a better QB than Mike Tomczak.

This is simple. He wasn't a bad coach.

Next.

He traded an entire draft for Ricky Williams.

Only won 1 SB with arguably one of the best teams ever, one of the best defenses ever and one of the best RBs ever?

Not sure how much of that you can really blame on Ditka tho. There were other things going on.

And I do not take into consideration his time with the Saints, that did not really happen.

He started whoring himself out the second they won the Super Bowl while frowning on his players for doing it. He became a celebrity as opposed to a coach. But he's always gold with me for those drunken post game shows with Johnny Morris.

I don't know if Michael Kellard Ditka was that bad a coach, but his Bears could've won more than 1 Super Bowl had he not done all those endorsements right after the 1985 Super Bowl title season.

Their only real chance was the following year. BUT, they had Tomczak/Flutie going into the playoffs. Two years later, a lot of the 85 team was getting old or getting gone.

1. He let the Fridge score a TD instead of Payton.
2. He made Bears fans confuse yelling with being a good coach.
3. He forced the Bears to hire Dave Wannstedt.

Bah-fucking-humbug, everybody.

First I lose Milt and now everybody wants to piss on Ditka out of the blue for no particular reason whatsoever.

Agreed. Coatch is on the hook for part of the blame, but he had backup and/or banged up QBs in the playoffs after '85

I agree w/ 1.
2. is a judgement call.
3. Is a fucking lie. Jay Mariotti talked the dimwitted McCaskis into hiring Wanny.

Mike Ditka could have altered the course of American history if he chose to run against Obama for the Senate seat. I blame our bad economy on Ditka.

It's really scary to think about how true that is.

Ditka changed the course of world history.

They wouldn't have put Obama up to lose against Ditka in the first place. Yes, that's right, Mike Ditka would've beaten Barack Obama so handily that the Democratic Party would've avoided wasting the golden boy in a sure loss. Bears.

I think the opposite would've happened. Obama would've beaten Ditka, who, using an extreme right-wing ideology, would've loss so many endorsements that he'd have to eat @ a soup kitchen every night.

You kidding? Ditka wouldn't have run on a hard-right platform, he'd have run on an "I'm Fuckin' Mike Ditka" platform, and good luck getting the Reagan Democrats in Franklin Park to vote for some guy who didn't even win the Super Bowl.

He would've segregated the schools, called for daily raids on gay bars & make it illegal for married women to work outside of the home.
