Anyone ever been to this? Is it appropriate for a 5 year old? Will we die from CO poisoning?

My brother took his son, who was 5 at the time last year, and he had a blast.

Yeah, I already thought of that. We'll have to practice with the ear plugs.

I went to this at the Pontiac Dome 2/3 years ago. Pretty spooky and the crowd was definitely unique. We heard the trucks from outside the arena so as you could imagine it's really loud inside.

Gets kinda boring after a while though as it's pretty repetitive.

How long does it last? Maybe it makes sense to show up a little late? Do they do some sort of massive blow-out at the end?

Seating was first come first serve but the arena was hardly packed so I'm sure there'll be plenty of good spots.

Yea, I'd show up a little later. They had a opening act of I think tiny dirtbike races. Then the monster trucks did their shit. We didn't stay for the end so I can't comment on a big ending.

the monster truck shows in the smaller areans kinda suck. those places are better for motorcross.

but the monster jam events like the ones they show on tv look awesome. never been to one, but theyre a blast to watch on tv.

My almost 3 y/o is all about monster trucks, so I am seriously considering this. There is also another one at the Sears Center early next year. But I'm not sure he can handle the sound, so haven't decided yet.

2 year old Speeps Jr. is of the opinion that monster trucks are used to carry monsters. I have yet to be able to convince him that this isn't the case.

If this were true I would actually be all about it.

prepare him for the noise too. tell him multiple times over multiple days that it will be very loud, and he will feel the sound. anything you can do to take the initial edge off because you are right, its loud as hell.
