It is a convenient excuse. Obviously it would have to be taken on a case by base basis but wars of religion are usually based in other interests with religion being used as the easy explanation for the masses.

Do you know why it's convenient? Because it's true.

the american civil war was fought over slavery

america invaded iraq as a preemptive strike against Hussain using weapons of mass destruction

The U.S. invaded Iraq because Bush said he talked to god, and that was God's message.

Eek. Awful rebuttal. I didn't say every death ever. And neither of those were wars of religion than are based on other interests, like you mentioned. And the number of deaths in those two events make up a small portion of all deaths in the history of the world.

They are examples of convenient excuses for wars that are, in reality, based in far more complicated reasons.

You said "they are convenient because they are true". I gave you just two instances of convenient excuses that are not true. Was i required to run through the history of man up to the first stone thrown in anger?

Those that made the baseless assertion should provide the evidence.

No-better to allow him to finish the season. They still have a shot at the playoffs (they win out, they're in) and to some people, hell a lot of people, thats important. Forget the team is 2-6 vs teams with a winning record and the playoff berth seems important.....anyway, better to fire him after they either a) miss the playoffs or b) lose in the first round. There are plenty of reasons to fire Lovie, but trying to install a new offense/defense at this point would be crazy.

Who is saying he should be fired right now?

It's the title of the thread....

Unless Lovie pulls a playoff WIN out of this, he should be gone and being that it is a stretch, Emery needs to be down to his final 3 for a head coach...RIGHT NOW....Now in 3 weeks...Right now!

Todd Haley keeps coming to mind.

Biggsy sez if Bears win out, but don't make playoffs, Lovie is likely to stay.

Shocked how bad the Cards are. I guess Bears are closer to top than bottom. Maybe Lovie should stay. :?:

Don't let the score fool you one bit, Hatchetman.

The offense was piss poor, Cutler didn't look so hot, it was disjointed, poorly run and bad.

Matt Forte is bad.

YOU NEED TO FIRE LOVIE RIGHT NOW.

He needs to have an N/A next to his name ASAP.
