It's tough for me...Either his great clock management....or how he talked down to the fans :?:

I liked that one time he called a timeout, then threw a challenge flag.

The late 4th quarter TO in the playoff game against Seattle. That was special.

I always liked the "we're 1-0 for next year" after that all important last game victory against the vikings.

This by far. If they would have drawn a pass interference penalty and then kicked the field goal for the win this would have been the dumbest playcall in NFL history.

Seriously obviously the NFC championship. The one they won because he stuck with Rex who stood up and won those 2 playoff games or helped win them when the other QB pooped the field. Remember the NFC title game was 16-14 at one point early in the 2nd half.

Yes the I remember the Super Bowl 2 weeks later when he didn't have Rex Grossman practice with a wet football all week even though the weather called for rain. Or what about during that game when they refused to try and stop Joesph Addai from catching 10 fucking balls out of the backfield because Lovie can't change his gameplan if he life depended on it.

And don't forget the Bears abandoning the run in that game.

"We went away from the run because they'll stop that eventually." Postgame after Seattle loss

Also, I'll second timeout+challenge.

I think Hester's kickoff return in the Superbowl was probably the apex of the Lovie era. It was all downhill from there.

You do not know this for sure so don't act like its fact.

And I don't want to hear about your "sources" that you supposedly have. Either name names or stop spewing your bullshit.

The media and a lot of fans don't like Lovie. I have zero reason to believe the players dislike or do not respect Lovie. You have perhaps the douchiest Bear of all in Urlacher who constantly defends his coach.

The players like him because he is soft, and does not really hold them accountable . Davis would have been cut years ago under a smart coach.Hester,Knox...n Bennett would never have made this $ under better leadership...same goes for that o line....urlacher needs lovie here to get paid....if lovie is launched ...54 is gone.

welp, even tho everyone's pissing on lovie's corpse here, i'll go with my actual favorite memory:

it was that chargers/bears game last year. yeah, the chargers were a ~.500 team if even that, and it was just the 10th game of a regular season.... but that was the one time in the lovie smith era that i felt like the bears were playing legitimate "big boy" football. in the second half they were in a fistfight going up and back and they eventually stomped on the chargers, took the ball back, then cutler dropped his most beautiful pass as a bear to a streaking johnny knox bisecting triple coverage to go up two scores, which they held. i was sitting in the far corner of the grandstands thinking "what the fuck is this? this ain't my football team"

of course, like everything in the lovie smith era, it ended up being bittersweet as i got home that night in a great mood ready to come here and post "i believe in this bears team" and then i find out that jay cutler's thumb is broke and the season was over. that really sums it up, i suppose... the 2006 season never felt like it was "the year" as opposed to 2001 redux, even after the kickoff... it's kind of a blur, i enjoyed rex coming in to supplant orton in 05 leading to b&b's "kiss our ass monday" and all that.... but yeah, it's time. i'm sure he'll do OK hanging out with his free $6mil next year. c'est la vie.

2 years ago at the Vernon Hills vs. Lake Forest football game when I gave him the "what's up?" head bob and he nodded back to me.

Best Lovie moment ever...

Vikings game four years ago. Can't remember the safety's name, but I remember Lovie had begged for the guy and he said he was a prototype for the defense. He got burned worse than I have seen a guy burned in years.

The timeouts when play had already been stopped or the few times he called one before a play where the Bears earned positive yardage.

What a guy.

In all honesty, this. Though I also loved the 2005 games against the Panthers and Ravens. That Sunday against the Ravens with the Sox winning game 2 of the World Series that night was perhaps the greatest day in Chicago sports history. Only SBXX could top it.

An emotional Devin Hester says he's not sure he wants to play for the Bears anymore. He is furious at Lovie Smith's firing.

Fuck Devin Hester. Go return kicks elsewhere ya fucking baby.

to answer the thread: Hester returning the opening KO in the SB for a TD. I was shocked and happy all at the same time.
