Urlacher, Hester, Kellyn Davis and everyone on the offensive with the exception of Garza.

You should be the co-host when Ralph gets his show.

Chris Spencer
Kellen Davis

I would really love to explore what they could get for Forte.

Why would you want to keep Garza? He's been exposed all year.

The only lineman worth keep is Louis. The rest can be replaced though I'd keep Scott around as a backup.

Urlacher is done. Hester should be done with the Bears.

Charlie Anderson best breakaway RB since Sayers? Would like to see some real speed in the backfield.

I agree that Spencer and Davis should be gone, but would also add Webb, Garza, Hester and Urlacher to the list.

Additionally, I would love to explore what they could get for Forte, Cutler, Marshall, Jennings and Peppers.

This team needs as many draft picks as possible so the roster can be gutted and reshaped.

I think this was originally Rick's idea, but it would be really intriguing to see what a team like the Jets would offer for a Cutler/Marshall package. They have severe weaknesses at both positions, and will have a new GM coming in this offseason who might want to immediately put a stamp on his team.

Try selling that to your new coach who also may be saddled with some of Lovie's coaches. They will end up with some bottom of the barrel guy under those conditions.

The selling point for the Bears to any of these top OC is Marshall, Cutler and Forte.

Be lucky to get a third rounder for forte, he is slightly above average...smart teams don't invest much at the position...I am still pissed. They gave him that deal.

I personally don't think Forte is much of a selling point. He is an above average back who has had durability problems throughout his career and doesn't run through contact or make yards for himself very often. And anyone who thinks Cutler is a selling point is not someone I want as the Bears' head coach. He is a coach-killing, team-destroying cancer. Although he possesses elite physical ability, he has absolutely no understanding of how to play his position and shows no signs of having any interest in altering his misguided and ineffective "gunslinging" mentality. He may be the most talented quarterback in the history of the franchise, but he's also eminently replaceable. If the Bears next head coach doesn't recognize this reality, he shouldn't be the Bears' next head coach.

It would be fine with me if the Bears kept Marshall, but I'd still like to see what he could bring in trade. I would assume his value is now higher than it was last year given his success in curbing his sociopathic tendencies and his on-field performance.

I should also add to my post above that the fact that Emery doesn't already have a clear choice for head coach indicates that he is a nincompoop. He should've had his top three candidates identified the day he took the job as Bears GM.

Yeah. He may have his "guy" already though. Maybe George wants him to go through the process. Who knows?

How do you know he doesn't?

Even if he does, then he should still go through the proper process before making the hire.

What is the proper process? Don't you want to get your "guy" in as quickly as possible so he can assemble his staff?

Interview people, get your Rooney rule covered. Did you expect the man to come to the press conference yesterday with a hire ready to go? That seems like a bit much.

Forte would be an innovative OC wet dream at RB. He has diverse skills rarely matched in a single player. He doesn't have the desire to run between the tackles but you can find some hammerhead in FA every year who can do that.

You cannot just say, Cutler is a coach killer in analyzing what would be an attraction. You have to put him in the perspective of what is present in the other open HC positions. Most of the open jobs are going to require heavy lifting and banking on QB prospects to develop. The Bears simply need a little tweaking in game planning and a couple of good OL to be a contender next year. There is talent at the skill positions on offense for this team.

According to ESPN, the Cardinals have already targeted Andy Reid as their coach. Why shouldn't Emery be prepared to make his hire?

maybe "his guy" is in the playoffs. and what happens if "his guy" says "no?" He has to have a backup plan.

If I were an "innovative" OC, I would rather have the draft pick that Cutler obtains in trade than Cutler. Forte is good at running screens and has quick feet that help him run outside. He lacks elite speed, though, so it's not like you can split him out at receiver. What role do you imagine for Forte that will dramatically change how he has thus far been used? I agree with Emery that he should be targeted more as a receiver, but increased usage will likely lead to further injury problems.

Because he wants to make the best hire, not the fastest one to pick up a retread.

If Emery had already targeted Reid people would be calling him a clueless idiot.
