I wish the NCAA could extend this to a 10 year bowl ban because of this.

I think the punishment for Penn State was fair, and they were lucky it wasn't worse. Just accept it and move on.

Oh, and thanks for ruining the B&B show the next 6 months too.

The B&B show is already in a ruinous state, this will just make it even more unbearable.

I'm not sure it was fair but justice was done. I would be doing everything I could to move on from this if I were remotely involved in PSU.

1. He is doing this without Penn State's consent.
2. He was on the Board of Trustees who accepted the sanctions.
3. He has cut state funding to Penn State using the scandal as justification.
(I hate to use this phrase but)
Tom Corbett, who you crappin?

I thought the suit was only to try and keep all of the usage of the fine money in state? I don't have too much of a problem with that.

What else is in the suit?

Why should the money stay in state? Should all the fines on Wall Street stay in NYC?

So when you pay a speeding ticket in Chicago, the money should go to Indiana?

I'm sure Daley had that rigged somehow.

That is a Chicago speeding ticket so it should stay in Chicago. The first word in NCAA is National.

If Pennsylvania fined Penn State, then it should stay in Pennsylvania. If the National Collegiate Athletic Association fined Penn State, then it should not necessarily stay in Pennsylvania.

Trick question. If you get stopped for speeding in Chicago the money goes into the palm of the police officer

IS that all that the suit is about though? I still don't have a problem with his intent, but I don't see how he justifies the expense.

The suit is that the NCAA doesn't have the authority to do it.

I would imagine they want all sanctions gone.

Would be great if the state won the lawsuit and then the NCAA said fine, we'll give Penn State the death penalty instead.

Congrats to @GovernorCorbett--he's right to be suing @NCAA over the ridiculous deal made by the trustees of Penn State http://reut.rs/XiuVJ6

Even more when the state of PA wins the court case.

I don't see how PA can win the case. Basically, the NCAA could never punish anyone for anything if PA is right in this case.

In his press conference he said he still wants the Athletic Department to pay the fine, he just wants the money to be used in PA for the victims and prevention (sure). Taxpayer money being taken by a non-government agency and used out of state would be something I'd want looked into if I was a PA resident. I'd guess the case gets settled before it goes anywhere, so despite it being politically motivated bullshit, it may end up as a "win" for PA.

If I were a PA resident, I would be more concerned with taxpayer money being used to rape kids for 25 years.

Who would you sue to get it back? PA?

The suit is much more than that. It's just a way to try and make an excuse.

It's still a bad excuse. I don't know why there would be any expectation that all money stays in PA.

If the NCAA settles at all (I'm guessing they do) it was worth it for him, excuses or not.
