Seem to be 2 of the leading choices for Bears coach due to the success of their teams offense and the role they play as "OC".

My concern with both is do they really call the plays?

In GB, McCarthy calls the plays. He has the headset and playcard with him at all times. While I think it gets called up to Clements, then to Rogers , due to league rules, it's McCarthy calling the plays.

In Denver, you can call a play, but Manning is going to change it or just run what he thinks is right. Manning is the best OC in the league and I hope we are not just giving a guy credit, because he is coaching with the best QB ever.

Thus my sleeper is Mike Sullivan, TB OC! Former Amry Ranger....Phil type guy! 2010 was Eli MAnning's QB coach,

McCoy had at least moderate success with Tebow, Orton, Delhomme, and now Peyton. That's why he's such a hot name right now, not because of just this one season.

Nobody cared if he did well with Tebow, Orton, Delhomme...

It's like Tony Dungy's amazing coaching to win a Super Bowl. He admitted doing almost nothing on offense with Manning. I would think McCoy does very little too.

McCoy made Tebow into a Qb that actually won a playoff game.

McCoy us the real deal. He's got to be the favorite to get the Bears head coaching job.

Good lord Scorehead. Is it gonna be Chip Kelly, McCoy or Gruden? Any thoughts on Cowher, Clements, or Parcells?

Its gonna be McCoy. I prefer Gruden or Kelly, but as I have said before, it doesn't look like they will be interviewed by Emery. I like McCoy alot.

Not sure the Bears will get in a bidding war for McCoy. He could get a lot of offers.

Clements is 59 years old, has never been a head coach and doesn't call plays.

The Broncos' offensive coordinator is believed to be the hottest of the coordinators. If the Bears want to talk to him, this is the week to do so due to NFL rules. If they don't, Mike McCoy's off limits until after the Broncos finish their playoff run. That said, it would be so Bears if McCoy's the choice.

Add the Saints OC to the list. We know he had to call plays this season.

That might be a good angle with the Saints guy.

Hadnt really thought about it. I dont want it to be McCoy, or Clements. I'm more concerned about them getting a solid O coordinator like Norv Turner than I am about any head coach though. There's not any coach out there that really scares me as a rival fan.

No way Norv Turner comes to the Bears if Cutler remains on the roster.

You're probably right on that, but Im not too concerned with Cutler anymore. I just dont think he will ever fix his perpetual flaws. I'd be concerned about the Bears hiring a good coach(I dont have a strong opinion on who that is), and drafting a QB in the first round and bringing in Norv to groom him. I have a lot of respect for Norv's ability to work with QBs, but something tells me Cutler isnt very coachable.

Why? I would think a guy like Norv who has had success with QBs would have enough confidence to think he could be the one to get Cutler right.

I think it's believed that his brother (Ron) may have poisoned the waters with regard to Cutler.

Bears asked for permission to interview Arians. I'm all over that as a fan. Really really respected as an offensive coach, and obviously after this year, now as a HC too.

McCoy or Arians really excite me so far the most.

Right now, I think Mike McCoy or Bruce Arians would be ideal head coaches for the Bears. They're the best of this bunch, and would come in the Bears' price range.

Even though GM Phil Emery told reporters on New Year's Day that "money is no object", I don't buy that for a second. Especially when you consider who signs Emery's check, as well as the next head coach for this football team. The McCaskeys still own this franchise. The Bears aren't spending $5 million for Lovie Smith's eventual replacement and Emery should know that.

Bruce Arians would be exactly what they need. Offensive minded coach who spent years on a top defensive team.

Sean Jensen, the Bears' writer for the Sun-Times has just Tweeted this...

Quarterbacks Bruce Arians has helped develop: Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger & Andrew Luck.

After Ron Turner got fired, it was widely reported on the Score that he and Cutler despised one another, that Cutler refused to be coached by Turner, and that Cutler didn't even speak to Turner for most of Turner's final season with the Bears.

Ron and Norv are known to be extremely close.

Do you think Norv wants any part of Cutler?

For what it's worth, Mully was reporting the other day that Norv Turner would be Keith Armstrong's choice as offensive coordinator unless Armstrong is hired here. Norv apparently wants nothing to do with the Bears.

I wonder if Emery just loves free dinners on the Bears credit card. How many people have been reported as being interviewed?

I'm not sure how many people Bears' GM Phil Emery plans to interview, but Colts' HC Chuck Pagano thinks that any team wanting OC Bruce Arians would be "lucky". The SCORE/WBBM Newsradio's Zach Zaidman has tweeted that "You'd be getting a great football coach" Pagano said of Arians.

So far the list of completed or pending interviews includes:
Armstrong
Clements
Arians
McCoy
Sullivan
DeCamillis
Carmichael

I think that's the complete rundown so far. Others are expected to be added. It has been rumored that Emery wants to talk to Saban and a few other college coaches as well.

Don't forget Will Muschamp. Mully and Hanley seemed to indicate he's high on Emery's list.

OK, so with Muschamp we've now got this list:

Arians
Armstrong
Carmichael
Clements
DeCamillis
McCoy
Muschamp
Sullivan

Saban is expected to be added soon, as are other college head coaches and NFL assistants.
