That doesn't sound like a winning pedigree.

I'm confused. Actually I think you are. You're saying the Bears don't have a QB problem yet I'm almost positive you've passed me and Rick on the Cutler Sucks circuit.

Cutler has been average at best. I'm optimistic that Cutler can turn it around in a contract. Brian Griese wasn't terrible but I don't think it's a stretch to say that Cutler would be the most talented QB under 35 that Gruden has coached. I also don't think it would be a stretch to say the Bears have more talented skilled players on offense than Gruden had in Tampa Bay.

Wasn't that Gruden coaching TB a few years back when Greise came in here and threw like 55 times? TB won that game.

Yes. He swung and missed on a bunch of QB's. Brad Johnson ended up being the best and he was already there when Gruden arrived.

Given his age and personality I don't think any head coach will come in here and significantly improve Jay Cutler. I agree with others who have said it would be a mistake to select a coach based on that presumption being a main factor.

They will though. If it's not based on offense then firing Lovie was stupid.

I wasn't saying they shouldnt hire an offensive guy. I just don't think they should put faith in Cutler going forward and make sure the guy you hire is good with that.

I agree with your thinking on Cutler. He could finally look in the mirror now and see there is no one else for him to blame. Hiring a great offensive mind could be perfect for the Bears IF that retain Marinelli. He can coach the defense for the next decade and they wouldn't have to worry about him ever becoming a head coach again. No one wants to hire the guy that went 0-16. The new head coach shouldn't be allowed to fire him.

Didn't Jimmy Johnson go 1-15?

The meatballs meatball! David Letterman would be happy if Singletary got hired.

To waste even 5 minutes on Singletary proves Emery has no clue what the fuck he's doing.

I have an interview with them tomorrow. They were really impressed how I took the Lions to 14-2 in Madden 2013.

You don't really think Emery will hire Singletary, do you?

No. I just like to think about the B&B reaction.

Singletary won't be hired. But it runs counter to B&B show's implication Emery is running the show all by himself.

If he did, the B and B show would be Epic the following day.

Good Call. I just read in the online Trib that the McCaskeys requested Phil to interview wide-eyed Mike.

This is really getting ridiculous. Its time for the McClaskeys to sell the Bears. For them to tell Emery that he must interview Singletary is a joke. And why in the hell would they announce that it is merely a courtesy interview at the McClaskeys request? And why in the hell is Emery interviewing the Vikings special teams coach? Interviewing this many candidates is ridiculous. Start with your top 3 & go from there.

The Score will be lit up with the Singletary callers...& Jim McMahan as OC...& Dan Hampton as D Line coach.

Exactly what I said. Enough of this already. He might be interviewing guys for other spots, but I just hope the Bears are not the last team to hire a HC.

OK..OK..Maybe I'm a little early with this thread BUT if the Bronco's go to the SB and the Bears hire McCoy,it will be interesting who he brings in. I still say I'd be fine with Gruden or Billick. Emery talking to about 15 guys sounds more like a dog & pony show than an actual earnest search. A good GM should always have a small group of names, just in case.

Earlier statement in this thread. The Dog & Pony show is starting to smell up the circus tent.
