I have soured on Pax a little, but I still don't fault him for the Curry trade. Curry has turned out to be a near All-Star center (he probably will be next year), but at the time of the trade, there weren't a lot of GMs that wanted him besides Zeke and under those circumstances, Pax fleeced him.
The Chandler deal was brutal looking back because Pax sat on PJ Brown's expiring deal.

I always thought Krause was great. I put his importance on the Bulls 6 titles ahead of Phil Jackson.

I believe that a certain board member with an avatar of a chubby former gm might also be in your club.

There is a lot of hidsight in your post Nas.

Krause almost traded Scottie for Kemp in 1994. Seattle nixed the deal. Not sure if Jordan would've even come out of retirement to win three more titles under those circumstances.

That’s pushing it, Nas. Everybody was pissed when PJ was still a Bull after the deadline. Most of us were annoyed that he got so little for JR Smith. People scratched their heads at the Griffin signing (I didn’t have a problem with him coming back, but I do have a problem with him on the payroll in ’08, the year we approach the luxury tax neighborhood), and others felt that Wallace was paid too much (not me personally, but I remember it being said on the board by multiple people). It’s not just you. I like Pax a lot, but I like the Bulls first and foremost, and have criticized Pax when I felt it was warranted.

But I do agree, though, that the media in this town thinks the guy walks on water, and that attitude has lulled a lot of Bulls fans to sleep, thinking Pax can do no wrong.

It seems that in Chicago, being a nice and likeable guy earns you a free pass. I'm not saying he's horrible, but I agree that he gets more leeway than other GMs in this town.

I don't want to see KG in a Bulls jersey unless the Bulls only give up Ben Wallace and Duhon. He isn't worth gutting the core. He's going to average about 60 games a year. Those knees are dead and he isn't worth the risk. Something tells me he might be headed here.

KG is going to average 60 games a year? What makes you think that? He should be well rested after not making the playoffs 3 years in a row...

You seem to be forgetting something in your free pass equation. Nice, likeable and hitting a shot to win an NBA championship. Hell, starring at Notre Dame alone gives you a free pass throughout the southern edges of the city.

He is 31 with a 36 year old NBA body. That's not good news for a big man. He has already started having problems with his knees

I've heard that 31 in a 36 thing (in various forms) before. Why? What about people who have played in international leagues, and who've played several playoff rounds repeatedly (Duncan, Nash, etc.)? I think Garnett will be fine. He doesn't take as much abuse as other big men because he doesn't play inside that much

He went from playing about 30 games a year in HS to playing 80+ games a year. Once a big guy starts having knee problems it's usually downhill from there.

I'm not sure what coming out of high school has to do with anything. Outside of one year (out of 12 total), he's played no fewer than 76 games. And while he did have some knee problems last year, it didn't cause him to miss many games, and obviously didn't affect his productivity that much, it's not like he all of a sudden started averaging 12 points and 5 rebounds. I think with the rest he'll be fine this year. I see no history that indicates he's all of a sudden going to miss a lot of games.
