Indeed. Buffalo is on the way to complete obscurity.

Hub basically saying tonight there is no way Lovie coaches again next year. Teams are only contacting him to fulfill Rooney rule or to really get a D Coord.

These are the kind of ignorant comments by Hub that drop him back down on my list.

I don't think Philadelphia likes his type of coaches, if you know what I mean. Ran Rhodes out of there real quick.
I don't think racism is what ran Rhodes out of town. They have a very low tolerance for bad coaching there. Besides the minority population there is higher than Chicago.
Actually I could see Lovie landing there as he could be a highly sought after coach and the Eagles are probably better than most teams in the market. The "out of town stupid" ( & Brian's Mojito) look at the winning record and Super Bowl appearance as big selling points.

Won't be Philadelphia. They care too much to hire someone like Lovie. Lovie will go to Arizona or Buffalo.

Same guy who picked KC Chiefs for the AFC representative in the SB this year. I do believe that one or two are Rooney Rule interviews, but he will be a head coach in the NFL next year.

Andy Reid was there for like 13 years.

Why wouldn't a team interview Lovie to satisfy the Rooney rule, or to possibly hire him as a DC?

Because he's obviously overqualified to be a DC. You would realize this if you didn't constantly, and ingorantly, conflate the real business world with the sports world.

Lovie will get a hc job somewhere, so many openings available ....they will look at his record and think he is better than he is. Lovie will not have 4-5 hall of famers on defense and be exposed as not real bright, he gets fired after third year in with a 23-25 record.

His kid (agent) says he wants to coach in 2013

of course his kid says that. His kid was hired by an agency group specifically because daddy was due a big contract in 2013.

I'm guessing he is saying it because Lovie wants to coach in 2013. Already interest from Buffalo, fwiw.

I don't doubt the interest. Hell, if Lovie were fired from somewhere else there would be people in this town screaming for the Bears to hire him. I've said before, he is a good coach.

Logically, if you had the opportunity to take a sabatical in your 50s on someone's dime and return a year later with equal demand for your services, wouldn't you be crazy not to do it?

Am I the only one who remembers the ineptitude of the Armstrong special teams in chicago? They were a completely disorganized mess

Lovie is about as overqualified as Jauron and Wanny. Lovie is just another Peter principle guy.

That makes him eminently qualified for the Buffalo job. Ex-Bears coach East.

Is Lance Briggs a HOF linebacker? Maybe my judgement is off but I can't believe I'm reading that.

As for Lovie, in his defense, he pulled the same trick in St. Louis as defensive coordinator.

If I am an NFL team who wants to hire Lovie, I would put in a call to the Bears and ask them what they will contribute to the pot. Bears are on the hook for 5.5 million if he doesn't coach. They would be getting off cheap if they threw a million to a team as an incentive to hire him.

My understanding is that the Bears are contractually obligated to pay the difference if Lovie gets a coaching gig that pays less than $5.5 million.

Enjoy the next few years if Lovie is hired. He will start out 6-2 against the Cowboys before losing 35 straight games to them.
