From Andy Katz:

Washington freshman center Spencer Hawes is fairly confident that he'll end up with Chicago at No. 9 after working out for the Bulls Tuesday for a second time. Hawes, who also worked out for Minnesota, Philadelphia and Sacramento, said he's a perfect fit for the Bulls since he would be another young piece to help them continue to win. He said that despite all the rumors, he never received a guarantee from Minnesota that he would be selected.

A center who can't rebound? Sign him up. Is Will Perdue still playing?

In a perfect world, I think Paxson wants the guy from China. It doesn't look like that will happen.

This thing is going to be wild. You have absolutely no idea what the Hawks are going to do- could take Horford, Conley or now mgt. seems to be pressuring them to take Yi. Plus if a big trade went down someone else could have that pick. Really #3-#11 are totally up in the air

Also, if the Hawks did indeed refused a trade for Stoudemire for the #3 and #11 picks, they truly are the most fucked up franchise in the NBA and there simply is no hope.

They may take Yi for business reasons, can't trade for Stoudemire because their ownership is suing everybody else....what a disaster.

I’m hoping for Yi, for 3 reasons:

- pro scouts are raving about this guy, and if Chicago or Golden State had a top 5 pick, I believe he’d go top 5 (may anyway if Boston pulls the trigger)

- if he’s not a bust, he’ll bring in a shitload of foreign revenue, and maybe that will be enough to convince The Chairman to spend beyond the luxury tax in future years

- North will say Chinaman again

Is the new avatar based on my "Buckets abides" post?

I don't think it is much of a secret that Paxson want Yi. I wonder if he would be willing to trade up to get him. I would think that if both Brewer and Green were available at 5, Ainge would be happy to move down to #9 while picking up a player.

Yes, GD, you inspire me.

As for trading with Boston, I see 2 realistic possibilities:

- they swap 5 for 9, in exchange for us taking Scalabrine’s shitty contract and them receiving Duhon’s expiring (also significant in that they almost waived Telfair, and who knows when he’ll screw up again)

- they swap 5 for 9, in exchange for picking up our late 1st rounder next year

But player-wise, I don’t see it. These are the guys we have under contract, and thus available for trade:

Guys Pax won’t trade simply to move up:

Hinrich
Gordon
Luol
Tyrus
Thabo
Wallace

Guys Boston wouldn’t accept (unless we took back a bad contract) for moving down 4 spots:

Duhon
Griff
Viktor
