As a fan of the Late crocodile hunter, I take offense to that.
Frank you are suspended from the board for the next 3 minutes.

Oh, and I forgot.
Cram it, dork!

Did we work together Coast? I spent two days in Federal Court in November helping out my former employer with a women who had a whole different view of what goes on in the world. You guys might be shocked to hear what is not allowed at the workplace. The word "Bitch" is cause for a lawsuit in any company and dismissle in most.

I think Keeping Score has a copy of the rulebook.

now, that's fucking funny...

Irish Boy, you make it seem like Mac is suspened monthly. He is not the only person that has been suspended from that show or station.
who said "they" wanted sports radio to be fueled by hate and name calling?
"MJH hasn't been the best sports discussion show in Chicago in quite some time."

please, tell me what is then. b/c it certainly isn't on the Score.

Waddle and Silvy do a better job of actually talking sports as well, IMO. Those were my top two, however, kotch.

Do you think Carm will sub the next two plus weeks or will they try and alternate b/w him, JD and J Hood? IMO, I'd stick with Carmen or JD since I don't think Hood can sit in the driver's seat with Jurko and Tiny.

I happen to agree with Coast and Irish boy. This is not a first time offense for Mac. He should know better by now. The simple fact is, the statement was inappropriate for radio. Whether you agree or not, those are the guidelines set by the FCC. Mac deserves to be suspended.

Coast,
how is that different than saying Murph is a major A-hole, or Crede is a pussy in front of 34,000 listeners

It's partially different in a legal sense in that Murph and Crede are public figures, and as a public figure, name-calling comes with the territory. But in an employer/employee sense, it's not all that different. I frankly don't think that kind of Boersish name-calling is appropriate in any workplace or airwaves either. I also think, though, that it wasn't just the B word that did Mac in here. He accompanied the B word with a pretty strong personal attack on a non-public figure. I heard it when he said it and I immediately thought...damn...that would get a lot of people fired in this world.

I do appreciate that there is sometimes an urge to use name-calling or personal attacks against other people. I'm sure a lot of us share Mac's struggle with that. I know I have on more than one occasion, particularly on this board  It's damn hard to always say the right thing in the right way. When we fail to do that at work, there is a very good chance we will be reeled back in. As it should be.

His legal council is probably advising him not to comment on anything publically. I bet there is a bunch of behind the scenes things happening just like the last time Mac was in the penalty box. Thumbs down to the empty suits that "bleed ESPN."

I would consider this a greater transgression if Mac called one of the WMVP staffers a bitch in their office space. There is no room for that in the woorkplace.
However, I do not consider a producer of a TV show whose name goes on the closing credits a non-public figure.
She's more in the Finfer, Zederman gray area.

That Mac quote was from last years suspension in case Teddy is looking to use it. LOL.

Do you guys remember that Mac said if he ever felt he was wrongfully suspended he would quit radio. I wonder if Mac thinks this was a wrongful suspension. If so we'll see if he lives up to his words. I doubt he would. I think Mac said he has 2 years left on his contract. It would be tough to forfeit that money.

I think this suspension was not justified. He called a women a bitch. She's not an employee of ESPN 1000. That would be different. If it was a male CSN producer that he called an ass hole nothing would happen. Women want to be treated equal. Well, taking shots is part of that as well. Mac has taken shots at CSN's Jim Corno on several occasions. I don't think he's used a word like "bitch" to describe him however.

regardless of how he feels about this suspension, quitting would be a knee jerk reaction. his couple of weeks at cottage should allow all sides to blow off some steam

It wouldn't be a knee jerk reaction. He said he would quit if he thought he was unjustly suspended. That means he's given it thought. Who knows? Maybe he feels it was just. If he doesn't and stays it just shows he's a wind bag. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't quit either. But Mac would look like a blow hard tough guy that doesn't stand by his words. He's looked that way before with his comments.

what other examples?

wasn't Jurko suspended in February or March for saying some things?

Harry was making generalized statements about some "prostitute" something or another filling up his daughter's water bottle and nothing happened.

how many one-ball John Kruk comments have there been?

it's because this bitch or her friends or whomever heard it and complained. so Mr. Bitch being a bigger bitch than his bitchy wife, bitches about the.....apparrent truth?

I suggest a "Bitch is Back" song parody for Mac's return.
