Paxson is dead to me.

I'll give a C, only because Noah will be a decent pro. He won't light up the world but can end up being a great role player. The only problem is he fits no role for the Bulls that they need. In my opinion now, Ben Wallace has to be gone within a year or two. Both players can't play at the same time. With both of them on the floor, teams will be able to guard both with one player.

looks like Nicks had a lower pick than bulls but ended up the night with a better starting lineup than the bulls... Not sure how that happened! :)

Spike Lee must be happy as shit now...

I'm praying that Noah was picked for someone else and will thus be packaged in a trade.

The Bulls needed low-post presence and scoring, and they accomplished the first tonight.

Now let's see if they can put together a package, including at least one of the Bens (Wallace and Gordon), that brings Pao Gasol to town.

You must be a big fan of Aaron Gray, because Noah is tall, but he's not a low-post presence.

At best, Noah is an absent presence.

Let me put it this way guys. None of the players taken after Noah are gonna be world beaters. They might be better then Noah but not by much. I think everybody overreacting. It's not a Bowie taken before Jordan scenerio.

Well, I know I can't put it as well as a Spinnin' Bucket might, so feel free to jest, but...

Gray, I'd guess, is the younger and cheaper equivalent of Sweets, Malik Allen, P.J. Brown, et. al.

And Noah, I'd guess, is the younger and cheaper equivalent of a Ben Wallace, whose salary I hope they ship off with some other pieces for a major scorer.

So if they use the remaining pieces and trade for a big scorer this off-season as I think they will, is this draft still a bust to everyone?

Not me. I refuse to vote. It's stupid to vote before these guys have played a season.

It's very likely that the 2nd rounders won't make the team. We're set 1-9 on the roster. If Duhon goes then the point guard drug dealer has a shot. That's about it. So what. 2nd rounders mean shit. Plus we're gonna sign at least one marginal free agent.

The Bulls love Curry, and they may need Gray's fouls off the bench. Right now, they only have B.Wallace, Noah, and Tyrus Thomas upfront. Is Malik Allen a free agent ? Obviously, PJ Brown is, and he's questionable to continue playing.....If we add another big in free agency, then Gray may have to play elsewhere in another league, but right now I think he has a shot.

Curry's presence could mean good bye to Duhon....

The Bulls needed an offensive post player. Spencer Hawes has a much better chance of ever being a good offensive post player. If we didn't have Ben Wallace, this pick would be better. If we had a low post scorer, this pick might actually be considered good as Noah can be a great role player.

This pick sucks because I have yet to hear how this has improved the Bulls in any way. Noah will do good thing for the Bulls, but will we be a better defensive team because he is on the floor? Will we work harder because he is on the floor? Everything that Noah brings to the floor is a current strength of our team.

This actually gives us two post players who will get big minutes that are little to no threat to score. They'll grab rebounds and they will get a dunk or two. At best, Noah becomes Ben Wallace. That doesn't do us any good for the next couple years until we can trade Wallace as an expiring contract.

I don't have a problem with Noah. I have a problem in that I don't see how this improved anything on the Bulls.

From hearing Paxson talk about adding an inside scorer, he's not talking about Magloire. He said the trade option is more likely, and mentioned he'd like to be a player on some of the remaining pieces out there - I don't think he's talking about Kobe or Garnett, but maybe Gasol should Memphis put him on the block this summer.

Gordon is going to the be the picce I think in any deal along with Nocioni/Duhon, so this could be an interesting summer still ahead....

If Memphis would accept Gordon, Nocioni, and Duhon's expiring for Gasol (which works within the cap), I would do it, especially if you could land Morris Peterson via the MLE. That way, Thabo still comes off the bench, because unless he has a monstrous offseason, he won't be ready to start next year.

PG Kirk
SG Mo Pete
SF Luol
PF Pau
C Wallace

is stronger than

Kirk
Gordon
Luol
Tyrus
Wallace

plus, under the first scenario, you'd still have tyrus coming off the bench.

What are the chances of Memphis wanting to go with the smallish backcourt with Conley and Gordon ?

Also, is Gasol going to be on the block this summer ?

I think the lineup they are putting together (Gasol/Miller/G a y / Conley) looks pretty solid, though young obvioulsy.

Who knows what they'll do. I'm just saying I'd do that package if they'd take it.

Otherwise, Nocioni + Duhon + 2008 rd 1 (no $ value in trade) = about $9 mil that you could take back in a deal.

I don't get it Nas,

Noah is going to be a Chandler.
Chandler is better than Wallace.
So Noah will be better than Wallace.
That should make you happy.

I'm with bucket.
Too much redundancy between Tyrus & Noah.
One will be moved. Pax drafted the most tradeable asset much like Milwaukee did.

If you take this draft at face value, I give it a C.

Noah doesn't fill a need per se, but does lend some size and athleticism to the front line that they terribly needed last year. He doesn't offer a ton at the offensive end but if he sticks with the club, I'd expect him to get 10-15 minutes a night backing up at the 4/5.

Gray will probably end up in the D League because he's a good fundamental 7 footer with absolutely no athleticism. He doesn't fit this team except to give 6 fouls a night.

Curry might be a steal or a bust. It will be interesting to see how he turns out. He could be the second unit scorer a la Ben Gordon that they needed at times last year when the second unit would stall. He can score in bunches and has a very similar build to Gordon.

Noah and Wallace will probably be the best post to post passers in the league unfortunately neither recipient of said pass knows how to score.

Of course, because when on the floor at the same, the center of the other team will guard both of them at the same time.
