Agreed, now Boston won't lose Pierce.

Allen will do much better in the East without all the athletes. Boston fans should be happy - at least they get another legitimate 25 ppg scorer.

Could the Celtics have gotten any worse though? They are a team going nowhere and this gives them a shot in the arm for 1-2 more seasons and in the East you might be able to win it all with a 1-2 punch like Allen and Pierce.

Are you kidding me? The Knicks make a major deal to pick up Zach Randolph, Dan Dickau only giving up Stevie Franchise and Channing Frye?

Alright Nas, I'm going to say the Knicks got more out of the pick from the Bulls and we did out of their pick. I agree with you on Pax tonight...so far

I am a basketball dope, but doesn't this make the Knicks much better? They have strong low post scoring from two positions now and got rid of Francis in the process.

The Knicks could win the East next year.

Zach Ranolph is a legit 20/10 guy. David Lee is a hustle guy who will be a good complimentary player but Randolph is a horse.

Francis make somewhere around 15M a year with a player option on 08. With Marbury in the backcourt too, Francis suffered. You really can only keep one so this made a great move for Zeke.

I couldn't disagree more. Too many shooters. Only one ball, terrible trade for NY, but that's to be expected with Isaiah.

The knicks have no reason to not try and get Kobe. They have no shot of being good for a long time without him. The Bulls are already good, but it looks like they'll great.

If you figure out, be sure to let the world know. You would be the first.

They got a lot better tonight. If they can convince Starbury to play "team" ball they will be fine

Agreed. Really good day for Zeke. How does Portland make THAT deal? They could have gotten a lot more for him. Stevie Franchise doesn't have anything left in the tank.

Jason Richardson is a good player but a move like this seems like a better fit for a team that thinks they are one move away from being a title contender. I think they would be better fit building with young talent.

Does Paul Pierce and Ray Allen scare anyone? It doesn't scare me.

Don't sleep on Al Jefferson. He'll be an all star this year.

The Blazers are going apeshit tonight. I thought they could have done better on the Zach Randolph trade, but so far in the draft, they've landed:

(1) C - Greg Oden
(24) G - Rudy Fernandez
(30) PG - Petteri Koponen
(37) PF - Josh McRoberts
(42) GF - Derrick Byars

plus Channing Frye

to go with

SG - Brandon Roy
PF - LaMarcus Aldridge
PG - Sergio Rodriguez
GF - Martell Webster

and vets

SF - Darius Miles
C - Joel Przybilla

another decent player

G - Jarrett Jack

and 2 large expiring contracts for '08

G - Steve Francis
FC - Raef LaFrentz

Also of note is the fact that they traded Szczerbiak as the primary financial piece, meaning that they still have Ratliff's expiring contract. If they wanted to add another veteran, most likely a big man, they could package Ratliff and Al Jeff (would cover $17+ mil in salaries w/ 25% rule). Allen and Pierce (w/ Al Jeff) will get you into the playoffs, but Allen & Pierce & Garnett could be pretty nasty.

I don't know if Ratliff's expiring, plus youngsters like Jefferson, Green (Gerald, not Jeff) and Telfair would get it done, but I might throw it out there if I were Danny Ainge.

Now, I don't know if it works, but Pierce, Allen, and Garnett would scare me. I guess anyone can be good in the east.

I think one of the most least talked about parts of this draft is the fact that Lebron James continues to get no help.

How is Cleveland going to find a way to put anyone with him?

What is portland's strategy? It seems like they are just making any move they can.

Acquiring assets, they'll be able to make HUGE moves next season.

FYI, Nas, Francis has an option next year, which he'll most definitely pick up. LaFrentz is in the same boat. Were you talking about something else?

Wow, the deal even makes less sense now for Portland.

Gotcha, about $6 million worth between Dickau and Jones.

Portland comma however comma has over $30 fucking million in expiring next season (between Francis & LaFrentz) to go with all of those young players.

Right era to be a basketball fan in Portland. Good Times.
