I only went because my friend won tickets through WGN radio.

What a stupid mess. The Sheraton is a nice hotel but nobody with the Cubs had any clue as to where anything was. And some of the CUbs stuff like coat check was at a different place than normal and the hotel staff wasn't told so wild goose chasing was the norm.

One of my running jokes is I say "I'm as confused and lost as a Sox fan at the Cubs convention" well I was confused and lost.

Then they had the bingo same ballroom as the opening ceremonies so they had to clean everyone out to set up the tables and then let people in.

At the Hilton the people all came out on a balcony and you could see them. This year they were basically on floor level so if you were at the back you couldn't see them (they did have movie screens up to watch).

And I didn't win diddly poop at bingo. Should have gone to Sports Night live. Or better yet stayed home watched the ceremonies on tv and just gone down tomorrow.

This should've been in the "Complain About Something No One Gives a Flying Fuck About" thread.

If everyone were wearing this coat there would be no need for a coat check.

Free tickets, and you still complained about it?

And here I thought this was going to be a thread about CSN's continual reairing of the "Opening Ceremonies" the past 24 hours.

Fun things to do at the convention:

* BOO THEO
* Attend the Dale Sveum GQ makeover seminar
* Ask Milt Pappas about his blown perfect game and walk away briskly.
* Go to the Dunk a Cub tank and try to hold their heads down when they go in.
* Every time you see an elderly grandma wearing Cubs gear, point and laugh
* Ask Ricketts if it was true his sister wanted Butch Hobson as manager

I find this hysterical try reading it in a confused/upset wgn 90 year old woman voice. "Garry i coudnt find the coat check or the bingo or the pudding. " should have gone to sports night live??? For what?? To watch the fjghts in the stands?

What is the bingo thing?

Do they really have bingo rooms at the Cubs Convention?

I'd like to see someone ask Pappas if he murdered his wife. And that's a serious question.

90% of the attendees are 90+, so yeah, they'd better have bingo.

Bernstein will be all over the renovations I'm sure on Monday with the "How does it bring you closer to a championship?"

At worst it's neutral so why does that part matter? It actually might help as the new players facilities will help keep players healthy and attract others.

Agreed. And next time someone goes to a Star Trek convention please ask Shatner the same question.

That's not true. You obviously have attended the Cubs convention many times in the past, based on your complaint that the coat check was in a different spot. I would wager that you go more often than you do not, and that you were one of the buffoons last year cheering the announcement of the Kerry Wood signing.

Haven't been since 2008.

And the convention was at the Hilton before this year. The coat check was at a different spot than usual for the Sheraton.

Also one stinking small elevator to serve the lower floors. I have vertigo so going on escalators down makes me really dizzy,

Why is it weird that the coat check was in a different spot, when the convention was held in a different hotel?

Is the floor plan for the Hilton 100% identical to that of the Sheraton?

Have you not stayed in a hotel before? They are all the exact same. Coat check is supposed to be next to the workout room.

Watching that Ricketts loser brother try to park cars in Undercover Boss, it would not be a huge surprise if it were not very organized.
