And the Pacers escaped with an 82-81 road win in Memphis.

How tall is Blake? To me he looks like 6'6 or 6'7 out there. I just look at him compared to other players.

6-10 allegedly.

I thought that, but I don't believe it.

Yup, still a bitch....

Quote:
Carmelo Anthony wants wages back

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has filed an appeal with the National Basketball Players Association in an attempt to recoup lost wages resulting from his one-game suspension for confronting Boston's Kevin Garnett after a recent game.

The New York Post reported earlier on the appeal, which was confirmed by the players' union.

"In light of all the circumstances, including the fact that there was no physical altercation, we believe the discipline was excessive," players' union lead attorney Ron Klempner said Thursday.
Anthony was suspended for one game and docked $176,000 -- 1/110 of his salary -- by the league for confronting Garnett multiple times off the court after he and the Boston big man exchanged words late in the Celtics' win at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 7.

Anthony approached the Celtics' locker room after the game and again approached Garnett outside Boston's team bus.

The NBA says it suspended Anthony for confronting Garnett away from the court.

"There are no circumstances in which it is acceptable for a player to confront an opponent after a game," Stu Jackson, the NBA's executive vice president of basketball operations, said in a statement announcing Anthony's suspension. "Carmelo Anthony attempted to engage with Kevin Garnett multiple times after Monday's game and therefore a suspension was warranted."

The Knicks and Celtics play in Boston on Thursday night for the first time since Anthony confronted Garnett. After practice Wednesday, Anthony said he doesn't "hold no grudges or have any bad blood towards" Garnett.

Why is the fine only 1/110th of his salary? Why not 1/82nd?

Yep. Throwback KG game. I know Pierce has a triple double but he just looks so slow and old out there.

The NBA has suspended the Clippers' Matt Barnes 1 game without pay for his neck takedown of the T-Wolves' Greg Stiesmsa Wednesday night. He will not play tonight in the Clippers' road game at Toronto.

Let the record show that I dropped Matt Barnes in my pay league last week, and someone quickly swooped him up. The Douchebag curse continues.

Kid, you been catching some of these Clips games without Paul? I think it shows how bad he is and how much Paul does for them. They literally are not running plays right now in a close fourth quarter game. They are just winging it. This is crazy and hilarious at the same time.

I haven't seen the Clippers since Paul went down. From the sounds of it, perhaps I overrated Vinny a little bit.

They lost again yesterday, OKC, to Washington...And BOTH Chris Paul (kneecap) & Blake Griffin (hamstring) did NOT play for the Clips. They've lost 6 of their last 8 since CP3 went down.

They sure did. 140-109 winners over Golden State. They scored 23 treys in the home win, and I don't think Warriors' HC Mark Jackson was too thrilled that the Rockets kept shootings three pointers with the game clearly in hand.

Fun start to the Spurs T Wolves game. Rubio is everywhere, had back to back steals a few minutes ago. His passing ability/instincts are just something else to watch.

Joey Crawford is being a dick as usual.

Just 2 NBA games tonight, both on TNT with Lakers/Celtics @ 7P followed by Bulls/Nuggets @ 9:30P-ish. Pau Gasol out 4-6 weeks with a tear in his foot, while Dwight Howard and his shoulder...iffy for tonight. Meanwhile, there was a story yesterday about the Nuggets supposedly interested in the C's Kevin Garnett, only Garnett isn't going anywhere.

I never thought I'd mention Lakers & the NBA Draft Lottery in the same sentence, TP. The way their season is going, they might want to start making plans for it. That team is a mess, and Pau Gasol being out for 4-6 weeks with a tear in his foot doesn't help.

This may seem absurd, but if a certain someone wearing #1 in red & black that we all know & enjoy still isn't back from his torn ACL, I think there's a chance ABC Sports (ESPN on ABC) might pull the plug on the scheduled Bulls/Lakers' game Sunday, March 10th @ 2:30P in Los Angeles. The Bulls & Lakers would still play that game, but ABC's possible loss might be Comcast SportsNet's gain. I'm just sayin'.

Pretty sure the Lakers no longer own a 1st round pick in the upcoming draft SHARK.

They're still a mess and if I want to see Cliff Claven, I'd be watching "Cheers". The wrong guy is coaching the Lakers. Mike D'Antoni teams don't play defense!

He'll be front & center tonight for Clippers/Heat & Bulls/Jazz, the NBA/ESPN Friday Night twinbill this eve from the network's Los Angeles studios adjacent to STAPLES Center along with Michael Wilbon, onetime ex-Bull Jalen Rose & ESPN.com's Bill Simmons. Needless to say, ESPN/ABC's Earvin "Magic" Johnson is embarrassed for his Lakers' team after that disaster to their hated rivals in Boston...
