More 2013 WWE Hall of Fame Rumors - Scott Hall and Jake Roberts Getting Inducted?
By Marc Middleton
Jan 20, 2013 - 8:47:21 AM

- There was a rumor recently going around WWE that Scott Hall and Jake Roberts were under consideration for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, likely because of their recent training with Diamond Dallas Page. The report states that Page may have been the one to suggest the idea to WWE.

We noted before how Hall could be inducted with The Kliq, if they go in. It wasn't clear which group was getting more internal consideration - DX or The Kliq, but both were at least discussed.

An induction for Hall or Roberts is not confirmed and it's said that Roberts would be more likely than Hall to go in by himself. At the same time, Hall would have the support of guys like Shawn Michaels and others.

That would be wonderful if they were branded as "The Kliq".

WWE champion C.M. Punk revealed in a pre-Royal Rumble interview that he "tore up" his knee in September and probably should not be wrestling right now.

Punk told Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com that his knee injury occurred during his WWE Title defense against John Cena at the Night of Champions PPV in September. Punk worked through the injury before finally undergoing surgery in December and missing the rest of the month.

Punk said he can't take time off right now because it's the busiest and most-lucrative season of the year leading into WrestleMania, but he's still feeling the effects of knee surgery.

Helwani: How's the knee?

Punk: Knee is all right.

Helwani: How'd you come back so quickly?

Punk: Stupid.

Helwani: You shouldn't have come back this quickly?

Punk: Probably not.

Helwani: Do you feel the effects of that?

Punk: Yeah, absolutely. It looks like I have a second kneecap... But, my knee is definitely better than it was before surgery.

Also in the interview, Punk said he might attend the UFC on Fox event this Saturday in Chicago before traveling to Phoenix for the Royal Rumble. Punk also talked about working with The Rock ahead of their WWE Title match encounter at the Royal Rumble, being thrilled to work with Paul Heyman on WWE television, and played up the rumor of facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

Helwani: Do me a favor. Sunday, retain. Come April, beat The Streak and go down as the greatest.

Punk: You got it.

Helwani: Can you do that for me?

Punk: Absolutely. 100 percent. Consider it done.

- It appears the rumored Dolph Ziggler babyface turn won’t be happening. WWE officials recently discussed having Ziggler vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 29, with Dolph winning. No word yet how this scenario would tie in with Ziggler’s Money in the Bank briefcase but he is a candidate to win the 30-man Royal Rumble match on Sunday.

Flair pulled from in-ring return over health concern

Jan 26, 2013 - 3:42:48 PM

By James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

Ric Flair was disallowed from competing in a tag match Saturday in Japan due to health concerns.

According to the All Japan promotion, which booked Flair for a tag match with Keiji Mutoh (Great Muta), All Japan's doctors said there was "suspicion of deep vein thrombosis of the left foot," and the blockage could have spread to his brain or heart if he competed. All Japan was not willing to take the risk.

Some fans were reportedly upset by the last-minute and sought a refund. Flair, 63, was replaced by his son, Reid Flair, who was scheduled for the undercard. Reid will reportedly stay with All Japan for the next few months.

Twenty years ago today on this date: Andre The Giant passed away at the age of 46.

random greatness:

Kerry Von Erich DCO The Warlord [4/22/91]. “Texas Tornado” Kerry’s heat was already extinct by the time this match rolled around. Then again, it could have been worse. Warlord never had heat to begin with. The only thing worth mentioning from this match was a classic Gorilla-Bobby exchange.

Heenan: “The Warlord is a lot bigger.”
Monsoon: “The Tornado is a lot quicker, Brain.”
Heenan: “The Warlord is a lot stronger.”
Monsoon: “The Tornado is a lot smarter, Brain.”
Heenan: “Now you’ve lied to the people.”
