Has Goff been chiming in lately about how the Lakers are automatically the best team in the West?

The Lakers are probably the worst coached team in the NBA. They never set picks right at all, they don't know who is doing what offensively, and their gameplan takes away what Nash and Pau do best. I actually hope they sneak into the 8 seed so I can watch SA sweep them.

Dwight and Earl Clark sure don't. And they need to. Kobe does, but he doesn't need to. I don't really know about Artest. Nash fouls every time he does but doesn't get called for it, but the inverted pick n roll is a dumb idea anyway, especially with Nash.

How was your oatmeal and warm milk this evening?

It actually is absurd what the Lakers gave up to have Nash basically just stand there and take the occasional 3.

Quote:
Nash will receive a three-year deal for an estimated $27 million because the Suns ultimately agreed to sign-and-trade him to the Lakers, who can absorb Nash via the trade exception they created by dealing Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks in December.

In return, the Suns get four draft picks -- first rounders in 2013 and 2015 and second rounders in 2013 and 2014.

Only reason you need to fire D'Antoni right now: Nash has set a pick more often than pick has been set for him this year.

He said they would be the best team in the west, which I found puzzling considering how young and dominant OKC is. Still don't understand what kind of massive impact people thought 39 year old Nash would make, he's basically just a spot up shooter now.

It's unclear if Tim Duncan & Manu Ginobili will play tonight when the Spurs face the Bulls, but Tony Parker will be a handful for Nate Robinson & Marquis Teague on the point. Parker had 29 with 11 assists in the Spurs' 111-86 branding of the Nets in Brooklyn last night.

The Golden State Warriors are unveiling the NBA's first uniform with sleeves. The new alternate unis will debut Friday, February 22nd vs. the San Antonio Spurs, and the Warriors will sport them two more times this season. They'll sport the new sleeve unis Friday, March 8th vs. the Houston Rockets & one more time Friday, March 15th vs. the Bulls at Oracle Arena in Oakland. The new unis look like this...

I'm not at all surprised that the Bulls flopped last night vs. the Spurs, even without Duncan, Ginobili, Parker & Jackson. The first game back from a long road trip is always a hard one.

No sooner did the Bulls return home, they go right back to the road before & after the NBA All-Star Break this weekend. Tomorrow night, they face the Rondo-less Celtics in Boston, and the C's lost 94-91 in Charlotte last night. Then, 2 nights after the NBA All-Star Game is played in Houston, the Bulls resume the second half in New Orleans February 19th. Needless to say, the Bulls owe them one after the Hornets beat them in November.

"This is the first time on a Tuesday night, in a leap year, that a team's third leading scorer had 4 steals in a game while the outside temperature was above 40 degrees"

Shit pisses me off.

Lowry has been solid again since being reinserted as the starting point. (Not sure if he's getting along any better with Casey as earlier reports, as well as his benching had indicated)
DeRozan has continued his solid season.
Gay is averaging more points than he did in Memphis.
Amir Johnson has been a stud for amount a month now with solid boards and great shot selection.
And the big guy Valanciunas just returned from injury and has looked pretty good.
As usual, they're getting nothing from Bargnani.

All my Raptors needed was to embrace the Gay.

Lost in the whole shuffle is that the Bulls' Joakim Noah will play in Sunday's NBA All-Star Game in Houston, but the Knicks' Carmelo Anthony might be another story. The Knicks' forward suffered a right arm contusion in the 1st quarter of New York's home loss to Toronto at Madison Square Garden last night and hinted after the game to ESPNNewYork.com that he might sit out Sunday's ASG, even though he was voted in as a starter.

Meanwhile, that same Web site has another Carlos Boozer rumor. Might he reunite with Deron Williams in Brooklyn?
