I really don't want to see Sharp in the shootout.

Well, it's a point...disappointing, though.

Grabbing a point through a coin flip isn't anything to sneeze at. Anaheim isn't a bunch of scrubs so I won't complain.

They shouldn't have been content to hold the lead for the last 20 minutes.

In the last eight games, the Hawks have 13 points of a possible 16, but they've given away 7. That isn't helping.

Inner Gay: Was a good game between two top teams. Hawks played well but shouldn't sit back on a lead like that. Dictate the pace better with the lead next time. Still undefeated in regulation, I'll take the point.

Inner Meatball: What in the fuck was that in OT? The PP just pissed the 2 points away. 4 v 3 is pretty basic. Pass, pass, shoot. Pass, pass, shoot. Not pass, look around for a while, pass, look around for a while, pass, shoot. @##$%^*^(%%*$!!!!! Fire Everyone!

The biggest thing I'm impressed with Hawks so far and it showed today especially was their shot blocking/deflecting. Last year you had the Caps, Rangers, Yotes, Preds and two years ago the Habs ride shot blocking at the expense of offense to post season success. The Hawks are doing a great job of minimizing quality shots for Crawford but not sacrifing the breakout either. Eventually there will be a bad fluke goal off a Hawks deflection or a Hawk attempting a stick check get turned into pylon but so far so good.

Agreed. Speaking of the breakout, it's been vastly improved this season. Last season the Hawks pretty much sent all 3 fwds to center ice for bomb passes and it ended up making the Hawks dmen look really stupid at times when they'd chip it around the boards to no one. This season everyone is in tighter. Puck security first, breakout second. I like it.

And Leddy may be the most improved in this aspect. This season, he's much more confident with the puck, whereas last year he was all "what do I do with this thng?".

Yup. Another year in the NHL, less of a role (No PK for one) and less minutes has contributed to a better all around game for Leddy. The next step for him is to learn what to do with the puck in the offensive zone once he uses his gifted speed to blow by everyone.
