Thankfully, though, you're just a dope on a message board without any authority to make fuckheaded decisions like that, so there's that.
Still sucks for those who have to read him though.

Well where did the gunfight take place? Wasn't he already holed up in that cabin when he killed yet another officer? How many more chances were they supposed to give him to kill yet again?

Maybe they could try the old fashioned method of "Catching him and bringing him into custody without murdering him"

I know it sounds crazy...

Yeah, who needs due process and a trial by your peers.

Fuck the constitution AMIRITE?!
He was actively engaging the police, including killing one earlier in the day.

You lose your right to a trial if you are actively attempting to kill someone. It was the same way the day after the Constitution was written.

So no due process for anyone? Having a fugitive cornered in a house and then lighting the house on fire, with the express purpose to burn him alive, is just fine and dandy?

That's interesting.

This guy would have eventually shot himself in the head like all those crazy mass killers do anyway. I think they wanted the satisfaction of doing it themselves. I'm not saying right or wrong. I'm just saying that there's a different form of justice for people who kill officers.

Wasn't there a story/rumor the other day that somebody was helping him? Guess that guy, if he exists, is pretty happy.

I don't care about this particular guy either. I'm just not gonna crap all over due process, that's all. Even scum like this guy and the Sandy Hook guy still deserve a day in court, provided they aren't dead, IMO.

Not if they are actively shooting at police.

This wasn't some guy sitting in his basement playing video games. He was actively firing. If he had been doing that in the middle of the street would you be upset if they killed him without trial?

Some of you guys are not getting it. The guy was an imminent danger. I'd love to see you tough guys go in and get him. Or stand around and "wait him out" while he takes pot shots at you.

This is a practical matter, not a desire for revenge or hatred or anything like that.

The gross misconduct of the LAPD leading up to this really makes it hard for me to be like "he deserves to be dead for what that man did to A POLICE OFFICER." Guys, Elmhurst Steve was a police officer.

Did they know for a fact* that he didn't have a couple people tied up in there? Or were they just speculating that he was alone?

Isn't that ultimately true though? Any murderer attempting to actively murder others is killed. It wouldn't matter if it was this guy or if it was me. If I'm trying to kill a cop, I'm going to be killed by a cop.

U check the manifesto? Not much margin for error on this one...If it were a typical suspect case lacking evidence, I could understand due process....

Quote:
I know most of you who personally know me are in disbelief to hear from media reports that I am suspected of committing such horrendous murders and have taken drastic and shocking actions in the last couple of days. You are saying to yourself that this is completely out of character of the man you knew who always wore a smile wherever he was seen. I know I will be vilified by the LAPD and the media. Unfortunately, this is a necessary evil that I do not enjoy but must partake and complete for substantial change to occur within the LAPD and reclaim my name. The department has not changed since the Rampart and Rodney King days. It has gotten worse. The consent decree should never have been lifted. The only thing that has evolved from the consent decree is those officers involved in the Rampart scandal and Rodney King incidents have since promoted to supervisor, commanders, and command staff, and executive positions.

Quote:
No one grows up and wants to be a cop killer. It was against everything I’ve ever was. As a young police explorer I found my calling in life. But, As a young police officer I found that the violent suspects on the street are not the only people you have to watch. It is the officer who was hired on to the department (pre-2000) before polygraphs were standard for all new hires and a substantial vetting in a backround investigation.

To those children of the officers who are eradicated, your parent was not the individual you thought they were. As you get older, you will see the evidence that your parent was a tyrant who loss their ethos and instead followed the path of moral corruptness. They conspired to hide and suppress the truth of misconduct on others behalf’s. Your parent will have a name and plaque on the fallen officers memorial in D.C. But, In all honesty, your parents name will be a reminder to other officers to maintain the oath they swore and to stay along the shoreline that has guided them from childhood to that of a local, state, or federal law enforcement officer.

But they had him trapped and surrounded. He wasnt going anywhere, wait him out until he kills himself or gives himself up. Burning the building down around him isnt really in the spirit of justice. Why not run it over with a tank in that case?

I hope no one thinks I was defending the police. I'm just saying that they take it very seriously when one of their own is killed.

He was trapped in a cabin. He wasnt going anywhere, wait it out and he will either kill himself or give himself up. He didnt have unlimited food and water in there.

So seriously that they're willing to attempt to murder 3 innocent people because they also drive a truck.

He was firing out of the house endangering people who live around there. With how powerful his guns were and the elevation he was at the bullets could go very far.

Well if all the people who lived around that house had guns, they would have been safe!!
