The Fighting Crosschecks come into today's NBC matinee with a .500 inflated record and a 4-6-2 actually-won-lost-tied record, 27 goals scored against 32 allowed. The Hawks are at 25 points, 24 of them without loser points and shootout wins, and a league-leading +21 differential. Still undefeated in regulation and in overtime, with their three losses all coming in the shootout. Fortunately, this won't happen in the playoffs, because we've been saving Marian Hossa's perfect shot for the playoffs. No one will ever expect it.

Hey, have you ever noticed how WASPy the Kings' roster has been under Dean Lombardi? I mean, even by hockey standards, this is something. See if you can tell which Kings are real and which are just random white-guy names I made up:

1. Mike Richards
2. Rich Michaels
3. Jeff Carter
4. Brad Richardson
5. Matt Greene
6. David Jones
7. Eric Johnson
8. Justin Williams
9. Dustin Brown
10. Ryan Smith
11. Brian Anderson
12. Steve White
13. Kyle Clifford
14. James Johnson

Answer key:
Real Kings are 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, and 13. I bet you thought 4 was fake because I just took well-known Lightning/Ranger Brad Richards and added "on" but noooope.
Fictitious Kings are 2, 6 [real Avs player, though], 7 [ibid], 10 [Oilers], 11, and 12.
14 is a trick question; he plays for the Sacramento Kings.

Now that I have sufficiently mocked the Kings' unrelenting Ontarioness, I fully expect them to win 3-1. A pessimistic outlook against Crosscheck's team is kind of folding the CSFMB in on itself, I know.

All of them, all of them, all of them, all of them, all lined up:
Saad - Toews - Hossa
Sharp - Bolland - Kane
Bickell - Shaw - Stalberg
Bollig - Kruger - Frolik
2 - 7
Swedes
Leddy - Rozsival
Emery

Kings GDT at HFboards has
Gagne - Kopitar - Brown
Clifford - Carter - Williams
King - Richards - Nolan
Pancakes - Stoll - Lewis
Ellerby - Donuts
Scuderi - Voynov
Drewiske - Muzzin
Quick

This team sucks. Light them up like a month ago.

Bill Simmons is an insufferable douchebag.

Thus ends my knowledge of the L.A. Kings.

Could be an interesting game today. I think it depends on if the Hawks can get a few quick hard press shifts to keep them off balance.

As a side note,Hair thanks for all your effort so far this year doing these game threads

They're basically nothing but run-through-a-wall-for-my-teammates-totes-solid-bro power forwards from the OHL or NCAA and they forecheck really well in front of a goalie who was elite until having offseason surgery. They have a really beloved broadcasting team that to me is really kind of vanilla, but I guess when you're in the sports market that Chick Hearn and Vin Scully built, you have to round it out with the Solid But Reliable Pro That Not Enough People Talk About. And yeah, Bill Simmons, total douchebag. That about sums it up.

I got every answer right on the white guy player test. As Pierre McGuire would say, I'm "pure class".

I know it was a nice play by Richards and Quick but I'm pretty sure only Frolik doesn't score there.

Was Frolik waiting for a puck to jump up and hit his stick two feet in the air? Hawks could of scored on that wrap around...

There is a delay, radio will be ahead of tv. Just listen with no sound. Put some tunes on in the background.

Wow, Michael Frolik really couldn't score in a whorehouse, huh. I swear, every damn time.

Kings blow...let's hope this doesn't turn into an ugly, penalty riddled, cheap shot game :(

There is a program or special radio you can get that times it up

On the bottom right in intermission it says #HockeyDay. At first I thought it said #HockeyGay and I got all excited. Then my brain said "Why would it say that? You're stupid", and that was that.

Damn, they had Quick dead to rights. It was just a matter of who would get it. And it was Mr. Spaulding! Glad he broke his drought.
