Have you had an MRI lately?

You're telling me it's been almost 10 months and he can't play 10 minutes coming off the bench?

Why exactly do you want him playing for just 10 mins. a game? Isn't it worth the wait until he can play @ least 25-30? Maybe positively contribute? Not just be a body out there? Asking a series of questions?

I think he should get worked in slow and build minutes as he goes. There is no training or rehab that is the same as playing the game. If he waits till next season that's 17 months where he hasn't played in a game.

The problem is that Rose wants to be dunking on everyone and he needs to just get back on the court and work on his jumper. He's not strong enough to take all the punishment he gets driving to the hoop and not get injured. He needs to change his game.

He was given an 8 to 12 month recovery window.

Exactly, so he should be playing within the next month.

It sucks that you had to spell that out for him. It really does.

This seems like a Stephen Strasburg scenerio to me. They are going to "baby the franchise player" if you will. I think this team with an 80% Rose is better than last years team. Most of you guys predicted gloom and doom without Rose and they are winning. If they hang in there, they could get a 3rd or possibly 2nd seed.

There are two teams this team with Rose probably cant beat in a series. With a less than 100% Rose, they're maybe the 3rd best team. Thats not crazy to say. I've never heard of a team throwing away a season if they are the 3rd best team around the half way mark.

Fuck it. Lebrons in the league. Why should any team try? Why bother?

This year's Bulls roster is far worse and has less depth than last year's roster.

Not anymore. The Bulls came back to earth in January and have looked very poor for about the last 30 days of games. The Pacers are in first place and will likely win the Central due to Paul George being the best player in the division right now, so the Bulls are looking at the 4th seed at best.

Nobody here has said that. Don't project Dan Bernstein's talking points onto the rest of us.

I would like to see him come back for post season, this team is hard to watch when he is gone.

This bulls team is not as good as last years team..but the heat, okc, spurs are worse too.

Last year:
Asik
Brewer
Butler
Gibson
James
Korver
Lucas
Scalabrine
Watson

This year:
Belinelli
Butler
Cook
Gibson
Hinrinch
Mohammed
Vlad Rad
Robinson
Teague

Butler>Brewer
Belinelli equal to Korver
Robinson>JL3 and CJ Watson
Teague equal to James
Asik and Scal>Mohammed and Vlad Rad

You can't count having no Rose, but with the exception of Asik and Vlad Rad and Mohammed the bench is as good if not deeper at point guard, shooting guard and small forward.

I won't dignify your post by quoting it, Mini. I will simply say that there's no way in hell Nate Robinson is better than C.J. Watson and it's offensive that you even suggested the contrary.

Mike James was also better than Teague.

Korver is a better shooter than Bellinelli.

The only ones I'd give you are Butler over Brewer and Asik over Nazr/Vlad. But other than that, please stop huffing the glue.

2011 Kyle Korver 22.6 minutes per game 8 PPG 43 percent from the field 43 percent from three
2012 Marco 22.8 minutes per game 9.6 PPG 40 percent from the field 35.7 percent from three

Korver shot a higher percentage, but Marco gives you more points, slightly better defense and can handle the ball.

You are right about James being slightly better than Teague, but honestly a third string point guard doesn't really matter that much.

2011 Mike James 10.9 minutes per game 4.8 PPG 40 percent from the field 2.6 assists
2012 Marcus Teague 7.2 minutes per game 1.9 PPG 39.1 percent from the field 1.2 assists

2012 Marcus Teague per 36 minutes 9.7 PPG 6.2 assists per game
2011 Mike James per 36 minutes 15.9 PPG 8.7 assists per game

2011 CJ Watson 23.7 minutes per game 36.8 from the field 39.3 percent from three 4.1 assists 9.7 PPG
2012 Nate Robinson 23.8 minutes per game 43.9 from the field 40.4 percent from three 4.2 assistes 12.0 ppg

Nate shoots a higher percentage from the field and from three and gets more points in almost identical minutes.

Marco and Korver are very similar, but Korver is starting now and making 5 million a year and Marco is a little bit younger and is making just under 2 million.

Here is what some of the bench guys from this year are making

Bellinelli 1.9 million
Butler 1 million
Robinson .8 million
Teague .8 million

Here is what some of the bench guys from last year are making this season

Asik 8.3 million
Korver 5 million
Brewer .8 million
Watson .9 million
James .5 million
JL3 1.5 million

The problem is that the Bulls have a ton of money in their starting lineup:

Rose 16.4 million
Boozer 15 million
Deng 13.3 million
Noah 11.3 million
Hamilton 5 million
Hinrich 3.9 million

They invested too much money in Hinrich and Hamilton and they have little flexibility to pick up another backup center.

Far worse?

CJ Watson is not better than Kirk or Nate. Kirk runs an offense better. Kirk is a way better defender. Nate is a better scorer. CJ doesnt even shoot as well as Nate.

Butler is waaaaaay better than he was last year. And he's better than Brewer was too.

Belleneli may not shoot as well as Korver but he's a much better player. He can create his own shot, guard a little and he doesnt poop his pants in the closing seconds of a game.

Taj now has a back to the basket game. Sure he doesnt make up for himself and Asik but Asik will NEVER be better than he is now and he's a liability at the line. Noah healthy makes Asik less important. An improved Taj with a much improved Butler make up for the loss of Asik. Remember, Asik isnt playing last year if Noahs there.

This years Rose-less starting Five is better too. Hamilton is healthy. Boozer is playing better than last year. Noah is a better. Deng is Deng.

At worst, they're as good. I think they're better this year. Especially with Rose

He wasn't that good in last year's playoffs or against Miami. He just was too inconsistent and that's a problem especially because of his defense. I thought for sure that the Bulls could beat the 76ers and maybe win a 2nd round series with Watson/Lucas, Brewer and Asik. But the Bulls struggled to score even in the one game they won after Rose got hurt. If anything Watson played very bad in that series and they didn't get enough consistent offense to grind out 3 wins against the 76ers after Rose went down. When Noah went down they were going to have play almost perfect to win. I think Deng's wrist was somewhat of a factor in the series. The 76ers were playing lock-down defense and they had Spencer Hawes, Andre Iguodala, Jrue Holiday, Evan Turner and Lou Williams killing the Bulls. It was really frustrating to watch. It was good that those bench guys left with the exception of Asik, but the Bulls just couldn't pay him 8 million to be a backup.

Since Butler has played better it's quite possible that Deng's minutes may go down a little as Thibodeau trusts Butler when Deng is not on the court.

What's your point? Yes, it's a lost season. I never said it had anything directly to do with Lebron. It's because this is a bad Bulls team. They're not better than the Pacers or the Knicks either.

The Knicks? Really? They are two games better than the Bulls without derrick Rose. Their 3rd best player is Raymond Felton. He's Terrible. Fucking Nate's a better player than Felton. Tyson Chandler is a warrior but Noah would cancel him out.

The Pacers might be better right now but a Bulls team with Rose couldnt beat them? To me the Bulls are clearly the 2nd best team in the East with Rose at 80%-90%. I think they could finish anywhere from 2-5 without him.

How is that a lost season?

The 99 Knicks were an 8th seed and made the Finals.

In 95 the Rockets were a 6th seed and won the title.

Why not? Lost season? I still think it could be great. They have no chance of going anywhere in the playoffs without Rose. With him they do. He needs to play.
