I'm on daddy duty that night as the wife is going out with the girls that night. Wondering if I should bring the baby to his first wrestling event. I mean it's kind of hard to pass up $1 8oz beers AND Jerry The King Lawler.

How old is the kid?

Connor Michalek, 7-Year-Old Cancer Patient, Meets Daniel Bryan, Pro-Wrestling Hero (VIDEO)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/2 ... 40493.html

A 7-year-old's dream came true on Tuesday when a social media campaign allowed him to meet his WWE hero.

It all started with a YouTube video of cancer patient Connor Michalek making a plea to meet his all-time favorite WWE wrestler, Daniel Bryan.

Michalek, of Shaler Township, Penn., was diagnosed with cancer of the brain and spine when he was just 3 years old. In the four years since then, he has had brain surgery, several other intensive surgeries, nine full rounds of chemotherapy and six full weeks of full spine and brain radiation.

Doctors gave him a 1 percent chance of surviving, reported CBS Pittsburgh.

The viral video made its rounds on various social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter and eventually made it all the way to Bryan. In less than a day, WWE and Bryan confirmed that he and Michalek would meet.

“It kinda brings a tear to my eye to know somebody like Connor wants to meet somebody like me, so that’s kinda cool,” said Bryan to CBS Pittsburgh.

Story continues after photo

Bryan invited Michalek to attend a WWE Raw event as well as the taping of the Christmas Eve episode of WWE Superstars.

Dressed in a Daniel Bryan T-shirt and accessorized with Daniel Bryan wristbands, necklace and title belt, Michalek finally met his hero, reported WPXI.

“Well, they call me ‘Stone Crusher,'" Michalek says in the video.

And when Bryan entered the room he asked, “Where’s the Stone Crusher?”

“I’m here,” Michalek replied with a smile.

Bryan gave Michalek some wrestling T-shirts and signed autographs for him. According to CBS Philadelphia, Bryan even allowed Michalek to put him in his infamous move, the “No Lock.”

“It’s unbelievable. I’m so touched,” Michalek's mom, Brittany, said in an interview to WXPI.

“I can’t even describe how happy we are for him,” his dad Steve added.

“It’s actually a very humbling experience as far as all of the struggles he’s going through, and for him to want to meet me, I mean, I’m just a small town guy from Washington. Anything you can do for someone like Connor, oh my gosh, I’m equally as thrilled to meet him,” said Bryan.

Shane O is starting to look like that club promoter that's a little old to still be in the business.

Thats what I'm saying. I really liked the image I had of the Taker and that is ruining it. I've seen him transition to this but I don't want to be reminded close up that he is old and bald.

I hear you. He is still and will always be in my top 3 of all time. But... this makes me sad.

^ that's exactly how I look at it too.

If I'm Vince, I have Brian Lee's number on speed dial right about now.

I would guess he screws (with no motivation) Punk out of his match with Cena on Raw to set up a mania match?

While typing my response, I completely changed my opinion. Originally, I thought Taker should skip this year. Close it out with one more win at WMXXX PG Porno. However, I thought about the potential combatants. Punk and Taker could kill it standing in the middle of the ring for forty minutes, doing nothing but punching each other in the knee. Followed by the Peter Griffin response. They can easily work around any limitations Taker has because of his physical condition. Can't wait.

Donald Trump will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame thus year.

Hopefully Pete Rose makes an appearance and takes another chokeslam.

What are they doing with Sheamus?

Looks like they are starting him with Wade Barrett, then later on MOnday, does something with the Shield.

Add to that after Smackdown, what are they doing with the Big SHow.

SPoiler Alert for Smackdown

Shield comes out to attack Orton, Big Show doesn't need their help knocks out one of the Shield guys and then gets kicked by Sheamus.

I was really hoping that would become an annual thing, but they only did it three years in a row.

It'd be perfect now, especially since Kane is a comedy character now. Pete Rose could come out and start bad mouthing New York. Kane's music goes off and Pete is freaking out. He starts to run but Kane stops him and apologizes as part of his anger management. Then Pete keeps pushing until Kane finally chokeslams him again.

And he can now have 4 losses in a row. Take some time off to heal up, and come back reinventing himself.

I don't think he reinvents himself.

He is infinitely better as a heel.

I wish Hunter or Vince had the balls to put Punk over Taker.

But that won't happen.

They are actually building toward Wrestlemania 30 and have been for many years now. They had the best of 3 series in mind with Rock/Cena before they even started. They can build Wrestlemania 30 to have the biggest match ever with Rock/Cena 3 for all the marbles. They also can set it up as the Undertaker's final match at WM as well. This year is just a bridge to next year which kind of sucks.

Speeps,

Doesn't this go against what you and others have said regarding Taker's streak? It should be used to put someone over that needs the push. Punk does not need it.

Punk/Taker doesn't necessarily need the belt either, but it still would've greatly enhanced that match/story in my opinion.

But that exact same scenario (title vs. streak) was done at WMXXIV when Edge defended the WHT against Taker. You know Taker ain't losing to Punk, so why would they make the Punk/Taker match for the title and waste a championship reign by putting the belt on Taker?

I would prefer to see The Rock return to hollywood and stay there. I think they have enough to work with now that they don't need him and his tired old catch phrases and his rock concerts. It was cool when he hadn't been around in years but now he is just getting in the way.

Kinda.

In a perfect world, I'd like to see an up and comer feud with Taker for a good 6 months and have it culminate with a win over Taker at Mania.

But that would require Taker to be around more and I don't think he wants that anymore. In which case, use the streak to elevate someone from a great to a legend.

I agree and I've had this discussion with others.

Rock brings in people for the short-term, but they always leave when he does. It's short-sighted.

I don't even want to see Rock/Cena 2 let alone 3.

You don't want to see it and pretty much everyone on the board here doesn't want to see it, but it did around 1.2 million PPV buys for around $66 million last year so you gotta figure they were gonna keep going with it.
