SHARK, how do you keep track of all the good stuff taking place at 670 and 1000 at the same time?

I'll translate what was said.

Carm: Well, there is a white elephant in the room. We were called into the office yesterday. Much to our surprise, we were told Harry is gone.

Jurko: Didn't see it coming. No clue. (17 place Jurko. Should have seen something coming.)

Carm: Yeah...well...this is awkward. I was asked by somebody if I wanted to write down what we wanted to say. I said, no, we don't write stuff down. We just talk. That's what we do here. Harry is a friend...hey, this happens to everybody at some point. Especially in our business. So now Harry is gone and we carry on. (Should have written something down, Carm.)

Jurko: Alright, back the Sports-a-roo.

That was a little awkward and, I may be wrong, a little forced as well. It was as if they were struggling for things to say about Harry and the show.

Good call, even more pronounced on the stream.

Beni, in the wake of Harry's sudden dismissal from ESPN Radio, I'm actually listening to "Carmen & Jurko" right now as I type this message.

First 3 lines of Beardowns post are verbatim. Other than that it was ( paraphrasing) the usual Harry is very talented, he will find work somewhere( much to ES's relief) this happens to everyone sooner or later in our industry, Up next, Hawks talk.

Jurko and Carm do not sound comfortable at all right now though.

Have you seen him on "SportsCenter" lately? He's enough to scare Baby Rose!

I don't think they're too upset about Harry. I mean, a little, since they've both worked with him for a long time. I think they sound uncomfortable cuz they're scared about losing their jobs.

They said they were both shocked by Harry being gone. I figured both of them might have known something was in the works. I believed them when they said it was a shock even though it shouldn't have been. So maybe it hit them that their bosses have a target on them now.

I don't know their contract situations, but maybe they'll be given 6 months to a year to fix things.

It didn't come off that way. It did sound like they were being careful about what they said, but not like it was scripted. They said that management told them they were making a change and going in a different direction in letting Harry go. But they didn't offer any explaination as to why Management made the decision. Ratings have to be a huge factor and management must have singled out Harry as someone who was a weak link. But how they restructure the show is gonna be crucial. Will Jurko VS Harry be replaced by Jurko VS Carmen, or will the segment be scrapped? Carmen and Jurko will both have to carry a bit more of the load and Jurko's 5pm nap will have to go by the boards. Will some new segments be worked into the mix? Will Danny get more of an on-air presence?

They sound like theyre trying to put on their happy faces with the cops at the door while the bad guys have guns to the heads of their families tied up in the next room .

I don't know their contract status either, Bear. From everything I've read, while they were 10th among men ages 25-54 according to the most recent Arbitron PPMs, they were getting hammered compared to "B & B" down the dial. Terry & Dan down the dial are #1 among men in a key age bracket considered attractive to advertisers.

Yeah

No. I'm good. I really don't like anything ESPN does, except for their college football work. I try to avoid their entire brand whenever possible.

I will continue to listen to B&B when I'm actually listening to the radio in the afternoon.

I'm watching Jeopardy right now, though.

Contestant: I'll take Arkansas for $500, Alex.

Trebek: In Arkansas, it is considered legal to marry this farm animal.

Contestant: What is your sister?
