Tom Skilling!

Another bulls-eye. Yet again he is making total fools out of the legions of haters.

He was also the inspiration for the term bonerfuck. That alone puts him ahead of me in the running for pope.

Ha! Skilling went on Roe and Garry and predicted his brother wouldn't serve one day in prison. Nice.

Count me among those who cant watch or listen to Skilling...not for even 5 seconds. He is PTFB TV for me & the rest of my Family for that matter. His 15 minute rambling forecasts are just brutal, unnecessary & a waste of time. The weather should be about 60 seconds.
Get off of my TV with your polar vortex talk!

I do a pretty damn good Skilling impression though...

Skilling predicts 8-12"
Taft predicts 5-8"

Chicago's official snowfall total - 9.1"

Skilling wins.

Fatality.

I did not realize Skilling was such a polarizing figure to some people.
Weathermen are often wrong. Same as say, financial analysts.

As far as weather projections go Skilling is often quite right. He may have been off on his brothers prison term but as far as an accurate forecast goes he is usually right on.

Skilling is usually right or damn close.

He has people in irrational fits of anger, depression, despair and hatred.

People were melting down all over the board yesterday about a local weatherman who is often correct in his predictions.

They were also commenting on how much the can't stand him, his weather forecasting ways, his vocabulary, the way he speaks, his mannerisms and such..........and directly after that they said how much they can't stand to watch him. Which I find quite odd....if you hate to watch this certain weatherman, why do you obviously watch him all the time? There is the weather channel, the internet, the radio and other stations.

It's just so odd.

I like her.

I can do w/o Skilling. Jerry Taft is the man & his weather crew runs circles around "The Penguin" Skilling.

It's just so odd.

I missed it where other people were melting down over him, so I'm sure I'll just be repeating their sentiments, but here goes:

I hate him simply because he makes millions of dollars for being totally useless. And I'm sure his feelings of self-importance blind him to his uselessness. So he predicted 9" of snow rather than 8". How the shit does that matter to me? It doesn't.

Also, there's no mystery as to why I watch him, because I don't. I can't imagine anything that would waste my time more. I only know him from years (and years and years) of accidentally seeing him in commercials or accidentally stumbling upon him on the radio, going on and on and on about how brilliant he is about weather - something that computer models do quite well without him.

Maybe even more than all that, I just generally hate happy-go-lucky folksy chummy types of people, who love to chat incessantly about completely useless and boring things and think people find them fascinating.

Anything else?

I also have to think that Skilling wouldn't have walked out of that store without paying for the 30 pack.

I know of a Skilling family member that would do it.
