It's a curse how many good things are on the menu at taco bell. That's why it is sometimes relieving to go to Burger King where it's basically Whopper or you are an idiot.

Looser!

Hate to say it but Taco Bell was better in the early-mid 90's.

Big fan of the Volcano Nachos at The Bell. They raised their prices on everything here a few months ago though.

I get nothing but Tacos at Taco Bell

Are the burritos decent?

RIP Burger King. Used to be awesome.

Taco Bell circa Late 90's to present is the king of tasteless, bland, low quality food. I will admit I like some of it but it's just blah.

They used to actually cook the shells, cook the beef and all that for your order. Cheese was actually cheese and all that.

Still good hangover food.

But what do I know, I like Long John Silvers.

like most fast food, the full price ones are a poor value...like the grilled stuft ones or the burrito supremes are in the 3-4$ range. you can get a burrito at a hole in the wall mexican place for that much

the ones on the dollar menu are solid...i think spicy chicken one is gone but that was good...as was the beef & potato burrito

A Cinnabon Burger would be something I would expect to see at Guy Fieri's place.

Also, the BK suits would be better served to figure out how they can get their shake machines to stay working for longer than 4 hours at a time.

Bagels and I have had many discussions on this.

The shake machine is never broken. Usually they say "The Shake Machine is down" meaning they cleaned it and shut it off for the night. So technically they arent lying.

Next time they say that, Ask them if its broken

They must have the cleanest shake machines in the industry.

I thought an actual shake from BK wasn't really a tangible item, but more of a myth/legend. Has anyone actually successfully ordered a shake from BK? Anyone who says yes to the previous question is a damn liar.

Oh and Taco Bell is far and away the worst fast food taco place I have ever been to.

what other fast food taco places are there? Del Taco? there used to be one in Oak Lawn but it closed, i do agree it was slightly better than Taco Bell but not by any considerable margin

There's like a dozen different ones in Texas, all clearly superior to Taco Bell. They all have the same dumb names though, like Taco Bueno, Taco Casa, etc.

Cool Ranch Dorito's Tacos? The best Mexican food in Rockford just got even better.

The verdict is in. Winner!

It's not even on the menu yet. I had to ask if it was available.

You've done it again Taco Bell.

Oh, you mean an authentic Mexican taco place on the border is better than a place that I wouldn't even consider real Mexican food? What a shocking development!

Um, no. I mean other fast food taco places are better than Taco Bell. Don't believe I ever mentioned anything about authentic Mexican taco places.

I agree with so much in this thread that I am scaring myself.

Taco Bell is the 2nd best fast food place. White Castle is first.
Doritos tacos are amazing and I can only hope Cool Ranch lives up to the high standard.
Burger King used to be good but they are awful now.
I have never successfully ordered a BK shake since I was in 2nd grade.

If those are anything like I'm thinking of those are simply authentic mexican places that will make your food to order instead of putting you at a table. If you look at the menu, it's not that much different than a standard sit down Mexican place.

Sorry to burst your imaginary bubble, but you're thinking of something entirely different than what I am talking about. I've actually been to the places I am talking about. They are much closer to Taco Bell in menu, style, and ordering than any authentic mexican place. They are fast food places. They cant really be confused for anything else. They just have much better food.

Does this look like an authentic Mexican place? They even have a section called Franchise Information.

I think the originals are better. Must have been the first person to ask since the guy said they didn't sell them until tomorrow but he made me one for free. Was about to show him the Taco Bell thing saying you just had to ask, but free is free.

Ok. My mistake. I was confused when you claimed there were 12 places in Texas that were like this one.

So disappointed in my hometown. The Forest City has many solid Mexican dive restaurants. Ran into Bun E. Carlos the last time I visited Taco Loco.

This is the best Mini Ditka thread ever!

There probably are. There's at least 6 in the DFW area alone.

I just hope you aren't including Del Taco. That's the only Taco Bell knockoff I've been to and it was not better.

Do they have Taco Cabana in DFW or is that a Houston thing?

Never been there. Taco Casa, Taco Bueno, and Taco John's are all places I remember going to that are better, and there were two others that I can't currently remember the name of who I remember liking more. In general, there are a ton of fast food taco places in Texas, probably more than there are fast food burger places.

They have it there, right down the street from where I lived, but I never tried it. It seemed like more of a sit down place, and if Im going to wait 10-15 minutes for Mexican food, Im just gonna go to one of the authentic Mexican hole in the wall places BRick was referencing. Is it any good?
