How so?

you'd plan to listen to a phone call (from me of all people) but not the show.

I'd podcast it. If someone announces their intentions on the board about heroically calling in to BernSTINE and attempting to set him straight I would be remiss to say that I wouldn't be intrigued.

I'm not sure why you would resort to childish name calling in response to such a simple request.

anyone who thinks it's heroic to call Dan to "set him straight" is also a wack job. So it all adds up. My call, however searing, will be quickly forgotten by the next segment.

I understand being nervous. That's why I don't use it. I'm not looking down on people that do, I'm just choosing not to use that phraseology for reasons outlined above.

Mac has gotten pissy on air before with stuff like that, so has B&B.

Please click on that link and come back and apologize.

I still believe you and all those who posted in that thread(including me) are lying.

At least I haven't changed my position much on that in five years.

Yes, most radio hosts would rather you just come out with your point. Its all about saving time. Saying Hello boys is basically the same thing as how ya doin

Mac doesnt like it, but he doesnt rip callers for it. That is all part of the B and B "were smart and everyone is dumb" thing that City of Fools apparently loves.

you also misspelled hear, goldendomer.

I just disagree with your premise...the phrase doesn't save you from being fired upon. Since I may receive an invitation to your MLB package any day now, I sincerely apologize for lobbing bricks at you in this thread. In honor of my potential invitation, if I should have time to call in today (which is not guaranteed), I will think of a new greeting.

I don't have a problem with a caller asking a host "How Ya Doin'?" as a big sports radio & talk radio consumer for that matter. I think the caller is simply trying to be polite when he/she calls in to a radio show, regardless if it's Dan & Terry, Mac & Spiegs, etc.

to be fair, it's not necessarily that you ripped me...I just don't care for the way you post in this section. If you don't like something that's said (and you don't like a ton of what B&B say) why not call in? Find the time to call as well as post. So few intelligent voices call in to confront what could still be a great show, that the show continually teeters on the axis of bad.

SHARK, I love you as only one man can love another, but when over 80% of the callers are asking the same question, it's time to change it up...when you're walking into your favorite Potbelly establishment on Harlem Avenue, do you order always order the Swiss and Turkey on wheat, original size? Or do you switch it up? That way, life is far less boring...

Sure, conceptually that's all fine and good... but calling up to criticize them will only lead to you grooving one in their wheelhouse and you'll get talked over interrupted smacked down and eventually cut off. Dan's a world class troll these days: he wants people to call up and take their browbeating cuz that's basically the brand of the show, aka rpb's mantra of "we're smart/right and you're dumb/wrong"

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait a minute mister. You really shouldn't be thinking that you're helping anything. Your calls really are bad. I wasn't kidding about that.

you must have assumed I grouped myself in the intelligent pack?

As for a problem that I have, it's the show that follows it, but won't be on this eve due in part to really bad DePaul basketball at Syracuse that'll cut this show short @ 5P. On the "Laurence Holmes Show", three things piss me off. First, does Laurence need to scream in high pitch when he says "Herbie...LET'S GO!" before he starts the show? Second, since when did Laurence start calling the nighttime SCORE as "my show?" Third and finally, he hasn't done it as much lately, but when he has a caller on, Holmes used to say to everyone, "You're on The SCORE. What are your thoughts on...?" As if I can read his mind!

Pat Riley is a Really Smart Guy because he made the Bold Big Boy Basketball decision to go after and sign LeBron James. So yeah, they probably know.

Asking someone "how are you?" is a conversational crutch, but I don't think it's anything to get a butthurt about. Dear Dan, if you don't like callers asking, "how are you?" then don't fucking take calls. People get nervous (I would be) and that's the easiest thing to say to segue into listening how dumb they are and how fucking smart you are.

As you can tell I despise Dan Bernstein and if I had the balls, I would call in and give him a piece of my mind. But I don't so I'll just bitch to you guys.

Again Dan, go die in a hole preferably with Terry Boers.
