If you are have DIRECTV like I do, and are one of the millions of subscribers who spend extra that have NFL Sunday Ticket, you might not like this news.

DIRECTV CFO Pat Doyle hinted at an Investors' Conference today that the satellite provider might pull the plug on the exclusive service taking NFL fans to every single game following the 2014 season if rates are too high. That's according to ProFootballTalk.com, the Hollywood Reporter & Sports Business Daily. The following link might explain why NFL Sunday Ticket might go the way of NASCAR Hot Pass, which was dropped this NASCAR Sprint Cup Season due to higher production costs:

This is a stupid plan. The only reason on earth I would switch to a dish is for Sunday Ticket.

I'm not so sure about that. Thanks to the growing popularity of NFL Network's RedZone Channel, in which NFL Network's Scott Hanson & Andrew Siciliano take viewers to all the games Sunday afternoons, as well as NFL Rewind, NFL Sunday Ticket might already be obsolete. That's part of the reason why Sunday Ticket could be history.

SHARK nobody wants to see Jaguars' QB Blaine Gabbert. If he was an ice cream flavor he'd be pralines and dick.

I hope to God that Comcast doesn't make a run at getting these exclusive rights. It would probably raise my cable bill by $25 each month.

America should be spared. I don't think it's a sure thing Gabbert even starts for that sorry ass franchise next year!

& if they don't get it, they'll raise your bill by $25 a month due to lost revenue.

While I know they wont lower it, they actually might be able to if they got it.

$10-$20 to watch a game? A la carte?

They could also try to not make the online version such a ripoff. It's like $350 a year for 16 games, and if you are a Bears fan out of the area, 5 or 6 games a year are shown.

I'm not paying $350 to watch 10 games.

I love Sunday Ticket, although yes it's outrageously expensive. But I'll take it over RedZone any day. Why would I want someone else to pick which game I'm watching? I couldn't care less if Cleveland is 1st and 10 from the 19. I'd rather watch Brady, or the Packers or Niners from whatever yard line they happen to be on.

I did but the picture was garbage. Once I got Red Zone I just watched it on that though. That is why it's so stupid that they make legal ways of actually paying them so terrible. I'm not paying $36 dollars per game unless I'm watching it in person.

The real question is how does this affect bars that usually show all games based on the Sunday Ticket.
