I never thought about this. Why do they have shootouts in the regular season but NOT in the Stanley Cup Playoffs?

It was a random thought. Nothing more, nothing less.

I think that people who continue to turn left long after the arrow turns red should be shot. Just a thought.

ESPN probably hasn't been a fan long enough yet, they haven't learned to LIVE the sport.

Here's a clip of ESPN lovingly covering the NHL, as it was the backbone of their winter programming. Super-odd trivia: Bob Ley announcing that Hartford has just kicked Paul Holmgren upstairs to make way for head coach...Pierre McGuire?!?

Steve Levy of 20 years ago looks chillingly like Steve Levy today.

To think, the Hartford Whalers were right in ESPN's own backyard back in the day. Now, they're the Carolina Hurricanes, while a minor league franchise occupies what's now called the XL Center up there in Hartford.

I love this idea.

How about for every minute of overtime that happens, a new puck is added on the ice. No more ties ever.

What about instead of 5 on 5 in the overtime, they play 5 on 5 with no goalies in the overtime? I suspect whoever wins the first faceoff would win the game very quickly.

Yeah, ESPN was originally envisioned as a Whalers outlet before someone told Bill Rasmussen you can do a hell of a lot more with a satellite than show Hartford Whalers games.

The minor league franchise, by the way, is called the "Connecticut Whale," and basically it's just the Rangers' farmhands playing dress-up as the Whalers. It's kind of sad. They never should have been allowed to leave Hartford (though in fairness, that arena is a serious dump). What the fuck is even in Raleigh.

ESPN 2 was created just as an outlet for Kianna's Flex Appeal

They might have to widen the goals by a few inches or shrink goaltender padding. These fucking Michelin Men out there, J-S Giguere owed his entire career to basically being a sentient king-size mattress.

No, people who dont pull out at all and sit at the line thru a yellow instead of inching out and turning on red....those people should be shot...with guns

Instead of unlimited pucks, or no goalies, why don't they just melt the ice? Lets see who's tough when they are swimming with skates and all that gear on.
