Or it's still about the knee and he's bullshitting about his hamstrings to take the pressure off of him for not returning even though he's cleared to play. This buys him more time to feel good about his knee. It gets people off his ass. It's a diversion.

I googled some stuff. I guess hamstrings burning is common from recovery from ACL surgery. His workouts have probably ramped up in the last week to 10 days since he got medically cleared. He hadn't pushed those muscles in 10 months so it's natural to get a burning sensation.

So it's not bullshit. I predict a return in a week.

I don't think they are trying real hard to do spin control at this point. As much as he is now cleared to play and there is no risk of further injury (no greater than any other player) to Derick , the Bulls may well be choosing to let him take on a bit more public scrutiny, hoping it gets him back in action sooner. I can't blame them if thats the case.
