Hey Shakes, would you say that Nick Leddy is the second best Hawk at being able to carry the puck into the zone after Kane?

Probably pretty close between him and Toews. But, I can't wait to see how good Leddy is in a few years! In terms of defensemen, he's still a baby and he already has 2-3 great rushes a game. Just wait till he has a few years of growth and experience under his belt.

Probably a pretty good golfer too since pretty much all hockey players are good golfers.

Never happened.

You dont know that. None of us do.

I feel pretty comfortable saying it never happened. There's just no way.

The crazy pitcher from the 60s, think his name was Spaceman Bill Lee??? I read his book years ago and pretty sure he said he pitched on acid. Not sure if he ever had a no hitter during one of his trips, but its been about 20 years since I read that book.

Dock Ellis pitched a no hitter on acid, according to him

Spaceman Bill Lee used to put weed on his pancakes and other food before he pitched.

Lee gave up the REAL HISTORIC HOMERUN in the 75 series to Tony Perez in game 7.

His loopy pitch was just too damn loopy

I would say go out and and walk and play a practice round than hit the range, play four more days (walking of course) while hitting the range before and after each round. Tell me how you feel after that and comment on if its a sport or not.

I just can't get over the hurdle of where the landscapers who prep the course exert more physical effort than the participants.

So, because landscapers have a tough job, golf isn't a sport?

None of what I'm saying is really rational. There's just something about golf that makes it hard for me to consider it a sport. I like golf, like watching it, and play occassionally. But I just can't consider it a sport.

This discussion of what is a sport and what is not a sport is pointless. It is like telling someone the type of music they like is awful.

Except when you have the word sport defined by a dictionary, complete with specific examples, including golf.

We now dispute definitions of words in order to fit a narrative? This is a low point for the board.

It isn't even the low point for board today.

Here's what you do. You bring a lightweight jacket. That way, if the sun comes out, you play the jacket off the sweater.

If I take my son to the Sportsmens' Club to shoot some Sporting Clays, is that a sport?

Sure, just like archery. Golf, archery, and shooting are all Olympic events.

no one cares about the Olympics, hardly anything there is actually a sport, save for the real stuff like basketball they have to use to spice things up
are a lot of people tuning in to watch curling ?

Agreed that nobody, at least in this country, cares about the Olympics, but I never thought it would come to the Olympics aren't real sports. It's just another undeniable reason that I have offered up to support my side. The biggest anti arguments are, fat guy John Daly does it, landscapers have tougher jobs, and I saw a list that said Mickelson is a great athlete.

The basketball didn't get good until the medal rounds. I am not going to sit through 50, 60, and 80 point blowout victories. I would rather go bowling against women, and dominate.

I used to make fun of curling when I was a kid, but I got hooked during the last Olympics. I don't know why, but I love it.

Is racquetball a sport? Because some of the best racquetball players I've seen are old, fat guys with braces on their knees who can barely move.
