I've heard Silvy suggest the Bulls finish as high as #3 so they would avoid Miami until the Conference Finals. If they finished at #4 or #5, they might get the Heat in Round 2 depending on the bracket.

And that's a bad sports thought from Silvy. Not sure why he even mentioned the Conference Finals or second round.

And the East really isn't a crapshoot. The first three slots are likely to remain intact until the playoffs as New York and Indiana have established themselves as the solid #2 and #3 teams respectively.

OKC, Silvy was referring to the bracket. Nobody's beating the Heat in the East. Nobody.

Yeah, but he has hardly seen the floor.

At this point Bulls are probably going to land somewhere between a 5 and 7 seed in the East. They have a lot of Western Conference games coming up before they play some of the crappy East teams again.

Right now, it's real, real close with the Bulls, Nets, Hawks & Celtics for the #4 through #7 seeds in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are currently #5 and would draw #4 Brooklyn in Round 1 if the NBA season ended now.

Guys, you are correct about the Bulls playing nothing but the West. That's the plan for the next 2 weeks and the Bulls won't play another Eastern Conference team until Saturday, March 23rd vs. the Pacers at the United Center. The Bulls have yet to beat Indiana in all 3 meetings this regular season, while the Bulls are now just 9-15 vs. the Western Conference after yesterday's dud vs. the Lakers in Los Angeles.

I think you're forgetting about somebody.

The Knicks? That's a possible Round 1 opponent, too.

It looks like the Bulls are only 4 games back from the 2nd seed. I could see them catching New York if the Knicks end the season in a free fall. Not sure if the Bulls can catch Indiana, but if the Bulls put together a solid run at the end of the season they could probably catch New York and be the 3rd seed. I think Boston could also end up being 3 or 4. In this last stretch of the season the Bulls will only play 6 games against teams with over .500 records (Denver, Indiana, Miami, Brooklyn, New York and Miami). So they do have a great opportunity to pick up some ground on the crappy teams in the East.

That wasn't an outlandish thought.

He suggested the Bulls could get the 3rd seed without catching Indiana. Outlandish , impossible, either way it was foolish.

What is wrong with that thought? They could get the 3rd seed without catching Indiana. :?

Damnit, you're right. I always think of the old format. Either way Mini Ditka sucks.

Malcolm Thomas has reached agreement on a 10-day contract with the Chicago Bulls, a league source told RealGM on Monday afternoon. After the expiration of his 10-day deal with the Golden State Warriors Monday, Thomas became a free agent. He has received substantial interest from the Bulls dating back to last offseason, due largely to his impressive play for the organization’s Summer League team.

Hello 3 seed!!

This guy was a stud in the summer league. I would have rather seen him on the bench instead of the corpse formerly known as Nazr Mohammed.

The Bulls start the night with the #6 seed in the Eastern Conference and would draw the Knicks as a possible #3. This considering the fact the Knicks are just as banged up as the Bulls, and the Carmelo Anthony knee injury might be worse than HC Mike Woodson is letting on in New York.

I know the Bulls have been playing rotten basketball over the last month or so, but guess what? The Knicks can be had in Round 1, folks. Am I suggesting the Bulls can beat the Heat in a series? Absolutely not, but after stubbing their toes last year vs. the Sixers once Derrick Rose & Joakim Noah went down, it's a successful season to me if the Bulls win their first round series.
