For the reccord I don't think Hood is a good host. I've said why on many occasions

So I guess everybody who is anti-Hood has to get a Rick Telander Avatar. That was Hood's criptonite. Like Dolphin I'm anti-avatar however.

I don't think Hood is a good host either. I think he's a great host!

Big Fan.

No idea why we cut you loose. Bad, bad decision.

Good luck Hood!!

Our taste in radio is eerily similar.

I don't like the constant impressions he does. Once in awhile fine, not every other segment.

I would hate to be typecast.

Needless to say, I am this board's original memeber of the Hood ALS.

The whole Telander Show fiasco really damaged all parties. It is and was a shame.

Forgive me for asking sir, but...

I must have missed what happened between J. Hood and Telander to get canned from the Score.

Can someone either tell me exactly what happened, or shoot me to a link or whatever?

That'd be great.

Thanks!

Awww....poor Hood fans...Teddy's not on your side...

Network officials say Chicago's ESPN Radio affiliate, WMVP-AM 1000, will wait until August to decide how it will fill the noon-3 p.m. slot that Patrick will vacate.

The station could opt for national programming if ESPN develops a new show. The versatile Mike Tirico and whip-smart Scott Van Pelt, who will sub for Patrick on Thursday and Friday, are possibilities.

Or WMVP could put together a show with Chicago-based talent such as Comcast Sports- Net's Pat Boyle or current hosts Chet Coppock, Jeff Dickerson or Carmen DeFalco.

pasta, JHood may have been mad that Telander was brought in and that he didn't get the gig. It certainly appeared that way. He perhaps wanted Telander to fail and he apparently didn't want to do anything to help him succeed. Whatever the reason, he didn't bring it every day as he did in other pairings. He often seemed uninspired, uninterested and at times, downright bored. At times he also seemed snippy toward Telander. The chemistry definitely wasn't there. Whatever the reasons for his behavior on that show, it wasn't JH's finest hour and it was likely the cause of his departure from the Score.

Hood and North would have been great radio. I think that was one of my first signatures.

Hood has a version of Lou Gehrig's disease named after him? When you have that, does that force you to do bad impressions of Score personalities?

Seacrest: How to post an avatar

Find a photo you like somewhere on the net, including any on this website. (Try googling a name in google images or if you are looking for JHood, go to the WMVP web site and find one in the remotes/events section).

When you find a photo you like, right click on that photo and then go to the bottom of the dialog box and left click on properties. You will then get a box that includes "address". Highlight the website address in the properties box and then copy it (command/c). You have now copied the location of the photo. Now, go to this website and click on "profile" at the top when you are logged in. At the bottom of the profile page, there is a blank for avatars to "link to off-site avatar". Paste in the website address of the photo that you copied (command/v). Hit submit. You now have an avatar. This will work unless the photo is too large. Try to select only small photos. If it is too large, it won't work.

For example, the Hood avatar I am using has an address of:
http://images.radcity.net/5176/1170496.jpg
If you like this one, just copy this address and paste it into the profile "link to offsite avatar".

Any of you guys former callers to "Score Hello?" (the original)? Used to love that bit, around 1-2 in the morning. I called in once to play an old Richard Pryor bit, thought it was clean enough, but apparently not. The last 5 seconds got chopped.

Sportspeak! Love it. Always amazed me how so few people could actually make it through 30 seconds. No offense, CSF. You weren't alone.

none taken...it's really NOT that daunting of a task IF u get a topic u can ramble about. But if u add the "pressure" of being on the radio, it add's an interesting spin.

My favorites were the guys that would talk real slowly and methodical, then still mess it up anyway.

Frank... Thomas... was... drafted... out... of... Auburn... and... umm... dammit!

(insert dunk tank sound effect)

Barber Shop - Tuesday
