In a few short years, he's going to Google his name and this image is result. He'll ask his dad, "what was really on your mind when you came up with my name?"

A few years later he'll be on the school playground and he'll be mocked by his peers, "Dude, at least my dad didn't really name me after a sandwich."

A few years later, a more hardened (and perhaps emboldened) young Spiegel will tell his dad, "Don't you dare tell me about choices in life. Were you stoned with the munchies when you named me, or did you need to name me to remind you of having sex with mom?"

A future Mrs. Reuben Spiegel will probably tell her husband that she'll name the children as she doesn't want any deep seated emotional scars bubbling forth to distract the selection process. That will include his father and his mother, the biscuit.

Like I said, I feel for the kid.

When I consider the fame and infamy of children's names, I pause to ponder how the cirlcle of life will be completed. On the fame sider there's Kobe Bryant, who's iconic athletic talent far suprassed his father's. On the other side (I won't say infamous because of a lack of update at this time) there are the siblings of my daughter's high school friend Remy: Martell, Hennessey, and Courvoisier.

One can wonder about a future for Reuben, front man for a Grammy winning group that churns out soulless music by the millions? Noted chef for his non-Kosher dishes that are adored by non-Jews? Respected child psychologist? Conservative talk show host with a Hoosier sidekick who in the name of god and decency pretty much denounces most forms of popular joy or entertainment?

Chances are that this little post here will be future Googled and I hope that it is understood that it isn't meant to be about Reuben. Good luck.
