Not exactly being signed in a hurry by any other teams!

Nick Roach? 54? Lance Louis?

Most important is Kellen Davis cut yet?

I don't think the Bears are better without Lance Louis. Nick Roach is just a "part" that can be replaced by a cheaper part.

What about Hester? Bears need to release him if he doesn't retire. Let's use that salary for something... well worth a damn.

Those guys all suck. Of course they aren't being pursued heavily the first day of FA.

I thought this was sort of a given coming into the offseason. Are they actually thinking about keeping him?

With the money they have already spent on the first day of free ajency I can't imagine that Hester will be back with the Bears. I can't believe I am typing this but I would rather have them cut Hester to bring back Lance Louis.

He's still there.

I think they are actually trying to trade Hester. Someone has to take a chance for a 6th rnd pick.

And I have always liked Lance Louis. Would like to see him stay and compete for a job, if possible.

Roach I can absolutely live without. Conventional wisdom would require bringing him back if Urlacher isn't, but I dont think Roach is even an average LB, or that great of a field general.

Why does someone have to take a chance on Hester for a 6th round pick? I know there are some dumb NFL GMs, but nobody has to do that shit. In fact, it would be quite a dumb chance to take at this point.

Hester = HOF > Anquan Boldin. I'm going to go ahead and pencil him in for a 4th round pick.

It is no more a chance than a 6th round pick to fill that need. Clearly an emotional guy that needs a solid situation. I just dont see him tanking if he went to a place like San Francisco. And there has been some talk out there about bringing him over for that 6th pick before Boldin got scooped up. I just got back from SF.

I mean I'm not willing to believe that with that shit situation, that any Bears players performance on offense or special teams last year, is typical going forward. This team was rotting from the inside out. That was obvious to everyone. I mean Kellen Davis is getting sniffs and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he turned his career around somewhere else.

Anyway that is what has been reported. Clearly they dont just want to release him at this point. They think he has value in a trade or as a returner, again. Unless they have cap concerns then I have no problem seeing him one last time as a returner. Maybe even an actual gimmick.

Nick Roach will talk to the Raiders.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

And Kellen Davis will talk to the Steelers. Backup TE spot open.

Why anyone would sign him is beyond me.

I think a lot of it has to do with him looking like the TE you would create if you were building one in a lab.

You could pull up the scouting report on Davis from the draft and I bet he is the exact same player that he was coming out of college. I have not seen one bit of progression in his game. Still, that body is going to get him a 10 year career.

Absolutely, GD.

There is no one who looks the part more than Davis. Too bad he's bad at football.
